What is wrong with the war supporters? Why are they smiling everytime I ask about the deaths? I ask a war supporter/Republican about the men and women being killed and they respond by saying "Ohhhh Yeeees!!! They died. They are dying for my freedom.....now hush up and let me watch my soaps". Why do the war supporters not care?

Dear Dingus,

It's called a WAR. When men/women enlist in the military (voluntarily) it becomes their number one priority....to put their lives on the line to defend our country. How do you know we don't care? I don't support the war per se....I do, however, support freedom, our way of life, and defending the human rights of others.

People need to understand that the military is not a scholarship program or tuition assistance. It's about defending one's country. If you want to put on a berka and go live where there is no freedom to defend.....call Yemen Air

I would say that you are an idiot, but that would be a violation of the Community Guidelines... So I won't say that.... However if you think about your question even just a little you should be able to get your own answer. IT'S A WAR ZONE....DUH!... People die in wars... And I very much resent your putting words in my mouth. I happen to have 2 sons that are in Iraq... so I don't (nor does any Republican, or Conservative that I know of or could even dream of) "oh yess" when one of our solders dies.... I am, however, more that happy to cheer for the 4,000 Terrorist deaths. So take your straw men and jam them where the sun don't shine.

I don't support the war but 70 casualties in a month isn't all that many in comparison to the casualties we had in WWII. Mind you, even 1 death is too many but just to give a bit of perspective...when the Allies fought the Germans in the Ardennes Eisenhower wrote in his memoirs that such was the nature of this killing field that one could not walk for several hundred yards in any direction without stepping on the dead.

i am a war supporter and i DO care, i served my time over there, i saw that we are actually making a difference in a positive way. you see the news and that is all you see, keep in mind, they dont always or actually they never tell the whole truth, they tell what sells. i am NOT smiling when i hear about the deaths of our soldiers, i wish they didnt have to be over there but it is necessary. wouldnt you rather fight on their turf then our own? i bet if another 9-11 happened, you would be all for the war

I feel your pain... but these are brave men and women who go to fight a war. What is wrong with the war naysayers? Men and women of the UK and USA are dying at the hands of terrorist. The Iraqi people are dying at the hands of terrorists. The WTC was a horrendous loss of life. The war on terror will involve sacrifice - and yes it is horrendous but the alternative is terrifying.

God Bless the boys and girls of the free West who fight against terror.

Death is a unfortunate consequence of war. When diplomacy fails blood will be spilled. That is the way war is. 70 men in one month in Iraq compared to 70 men an hour in WW2, we have learned to use technology to keep our people safer.

When you enlist in a MILITARY you know there is a chance you could goto war and DIE. Thats the fact of joining. Our soldiers volunteer to join and fight, people still join even during the war because they want to fight for the US.

i heard a quote today.more people died this month in Iraq than the previous nine consecutive months combined!dont know if its true.heard it on NPR radio.sounds to me that after four yrs of this sh.t its gettin to look like Vietnam which continually got worse not better.and we were told the same damn stories.pres. Johnson didn't want to pull out because he was afraid to be the architect of defeat, cuttin and running as they say now.He was ashamed.pride got in his way of saving the lives of those youngsters.and he said it well before the war ended we now know.He could have saved their lives by accepting the reality.the war was not winnable.so the statistics will go up.and they the soldiers who are dyin and being maimed will just be that, statistics.

Because Bush is an idiot and will not bring our men and WOMEN home where they belong. And foe the ppl answer with the did you hear about the three thousand that died at the world trade centers.
Well did you all hear that Bush lied about Al Queidas ties to Iraq. The only war we should be fighting and do not have enough men at is in Afghanistan.

you are steriotyping.....most who sign up for the military know what they are in for.....they even sign up to go back to war over and over. They know there is a chance they are going to die. And to say that people dont care is soooooo wrong. Granet some dont and thats sad. You dont have to fully agree with the war to stand behind our men and women over there either. Below is a link that is regularly updated with casualities for this war. Do I believe its worth it? I cant answer that question, same with most Americans and thats why they are there....so we dont have to first hand know what its like. And unfortunatly some who do not experience the pain of a loved one going to war, they have a hard time feeling any remorse or support for something they do not feel directly impacts their life. I say God bless the troops......for any reason they shall fight for......because everyone is someones son, mother, father, brother, sister or child.

Hmm... maybe when they finally break out the nukes, we'll see some real numbers.

BTW- I don't watch soaps and I don't appreciate the assumption that I do. I watch TV land, particularly reruns of All In The Family and Archie Bunker's Place.
