It is different in that tolerance and love are practiced like no other place on earth. Religion talks the talk then wars with others. The military declares you equal and demands that everyone comply. Rules of life are followed. The one in San Antonio is known to be excellent but the local climate is the pits. Summers are like a continuous steam bath. The military is a more mixed society than regular life. like 40% white and 40% black with 10% coming from every country on earth. Lawsuits are generally never allowed. Blaming someone or something else does not work. You will be held responsible and accountable at all times. Excuses are never tolerated. You must be responsible. Once you experience true community, if you are hardworking honest and trustworthy you will love it.

There are a few in San Antonio if I'm correct. I've been on Fort Sam Houston and that's it. It really is like a normal community, except in my opinion, better. I feel safer, and find myself having neighbors i can really relate to. The stores are much better because of no taxes and I just feel comforted being around military personell all the time. hah.

Which military base? Lackland, Randolph, Brooks or Fort Sam Houston???
In general, a military base is much quieter and stable. Not much rowdy behavior going on nor much of anything after dark.

Being as I haven't been to Lackland in over 40 years, my description of life there probably would no longer be accurate.

Go and join up. Discipline is good for you. It will make a man of you, even if you weren't one to start with
