I have an AT&T cordless phone with 3 mailboxes for the answering machine. It automatically goes to the first one to record messages. Is there a way to program it so that it automatically goes to the second mailbox???

It isn't a cell phone - it is a regular home phone that is cordless....

Ours has 4 mailboxes and there is a way that we can program each box for different family members then when someone calls they would select which mailbox to put it in, we've never done it and I have no idea how but look to see if you can find your instruction booklet that came with it.

I think I need some additional information on this one.. I have never heard of a cordless phone having three mailboxes.. Do you use VOIP (Voice over Internet provider) like Vonage or Cox? I would think that you would have to consult your provider of your phone service to see if there is a way to do that.. If I had more info I maybe able to help you out more.. Just need to be a little more specific in your question...

We have an AT&T system like you have. I know of no way to program it the way you want, but we tell our friends and family members which number to use when they go to leave a message. Family uses #2. Close friends use #3. everything else just goes in to # 1 due "they" don't know we have that feature. We also know how to use those #'s when we call in to check our messages, when we are not home.
