Is it uncommon for a child to refer to another women who takes care of it often as mommy?

No, it is very common for a child to call someone else mommy and even daddy.My daughter did this for a good little while, so her dad and I decided that he would call me mommy for a while and I called him daddy, it didn't take long for her to start to get the mommy, daddy thing right.

No they repeat what they hear so if your daycare is in a home with children and they call their mommy your child will pick it up quickly from them
