kim c All she says is just that: worship God, and she wants us to penance for sins that offend God.

She's alive in Christ and God lets her hear our prayers.

Yes I'm sure Jesus loves Mary.I'm not sure he calls her his mother. She was just a vessel so to speak, of placing Christ here on earth to become a man and fulfill prophecy. The Bible never says that Mary was anyone but an ordinary human female whom God chose to use in a extraordinary way. Yes, Mary was a righteous woman and favored by God (Luke 1:27-28). Mary was also a sinful human being just like everyone else – who needed Jesus Christ as her Savior just like everyone else (Romans 3:23; 6:23-24). Mary did not have an “immaculate conception” – there is no Biblical reason to believe Mary’s birth was anything but a normal human birth. Mary was a virgin when she gave birth to Jesus (Luke 1:34-38), but she did not remain a virgin her entire life. In fact, Joseph and Mary had several children together after Jesus was born. Jesus had four half-brothers: James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas (Matthew 13:55). Jesus also had half-sisters but they are not named or numbered (Matthew 13:55-56).

Mary was with the apostles on the day of Pentecost (Acts 1:14). However, Mary is never mentioned again after that passage. Mary’s death is not recorded in the Bible. Nothing is said about Mary ascending to Heaven or having an exalted place in Heaven. Mary is to be respected as the earthly mother of Jesus, but she is not worthy of our worship and she cannot hear our prayers. Jesus is our only advocate in Heaven (1 Timothy 2:5). Mary would say the same as the angels do when people try to worship them – “Worship God!” (Revelation 19:10; 22:9).

You should stop claiming that Jehovah God has a mother. Jehovah God who took on the Human in the world is a marriage of divine Love and divine Wisdom. That is where male and female came from.

Jesus vision is bigger than just that, he loves everyone, not just his mother..
Yes we are to love our own Mothers..

Mat 12:48 But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?
Mat 12:49 And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!
Mat 12:50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

Yes not only did Jesus love his mother, but he honored her by changing water into wine at the wedding. And, when He hung on the cross He was concerned for her and asked John to care for her.

I think the man Jesus indeed loved his mother. Don't most people who never heard of the 10 commandments love their parents? They better cuz Leviticus 20:9 says if they curse their parents they will be put to death.

To honor does not mean to worship or idolize does it? I never got the feeling that He did not follow God. I am sure He loved and respected his mother and yes honored her. He honored her by Going to the cross so that she and the rest of the world would not have to die without being able to be saved by Grace through faith.

We Muslims believe in this:
Whereupon the child spoke out, "I am a servant of Allah: He has given me the Book and He has appointed me a Prophet, and He has made me blessed wherever I may be. He has enjoined upon me to offer Salat and give Zakat so long as I shall live. He has made me dutiful to my mother,20a and He has not made me oppressive and hard-hearted. Peace be upon me on the day I was born and peace shall be on me on the day I die and on the day I am raised to life." "Qur'an 19, 30-33"
So yes he loves his mother.
