I am not being flippant,I really would like to know.
I asked a previous question about who wrote the Bible. From the responses it seemed obvious that nobody knew for sure.
As the Bible is the basis of the Christian religion, why do you accept it without question when there is no way of verifying it?

Well, for starters, the sheer number of ancient documents containing Biblical texts that can be compared and corroborated is pretty good evidence for the reliability of Biblical texts, which is a pretty good starting point for verifying that the Bible can be trusted. That isn't exactly what you asked, but I'm throwing this out as a starting point since as a Christian I believe the Bible is the Word of God and that He sent His Son Jesus to die for our sins. Why do I believe in God? I've seen the reality of the spiritual realm through experiences in my life that only make sense in light of what the Bible says. Some things in this life--life itself, for one thing--make absolutely no sense unless there is a spiritual reality "out there somewhere." It makes no sense that we live in this crazy, cruel world but still have hope of some kind unless God has first shown us a reason for hope. Why would we have the concept of sin if there weren't some notion given to us that absolute right and wrong do exist--and that we can know right and wrong by first knowing the God who is the standard for right and wrong? Nobody would simply look at the events and people in this world and simply come up with the idea that God is good when the world itself is such a cruel, cold place, unless of course God was real and was separate from the insanity we see every day. I can't see any other explanation as to why we hold onto the idea that a good God exists if in fact He doesn't, since this world at face value would make us think that He didn't exist. The fact that people believe in God's goodness, explained through the Bible, is real leaves me with no other conclusion than He is here and that He is not silent.

Faith in God is needed to become a Christian. When a person confesses Jesus Christ ones Lord & believed in their heart the resurrection, that is when person is born of God, by the will of God.

Faith is how every Christian starts. It is a personal relationship with God. Afterward, faith grows. God does miracles in persons own life. Faith grows. Christian ask God for things & God answers. So to believe in God starts out in faith in God & God is always there revealing more about God to Christian. It is a relationship that no born again Christian can deny.

I believe in God because He is real, and His Son Son died on the cross for the sins of all, but you have to accept Him as your Lord and Savior and follow Him in order to be found worthy by His Blood sacrifice.

The Bible was written by men OF GOD. And protected by God throughout the ages so nobody would change His Word.

It has been verified, for I have God's Holy Spirit within me guiding me daily.

As far as who wrote the books of the Bible, I don't know all of them as far as the Old Testament is concerned, but I know that Moses wrote some of them as well as King David (as in David & Goliath)..I know David wrote either all or some of the Psalms. As far as the New Testament...I happened to ask my brother who has a Bachelor of Science from Florida Christian College (which is, by the way, an accredited college. They also teach classes on logic among others...)...here are his answers:
Matthew - written by Matthew
Mark - written by John Mark
Luke - written by Luke the physician
John - written by John
Acts - Luke
Romans - Paul
1&2 Corinthians - Paul
Galatians - Paul
Ephesians - Paul
Philippians - Paul
Colossians - Paul
1&2 Thessalonians - Paul
1&2 Timothy - Paul
Titus - Paul
Philemon - Paul
Hewbrews - unknown but probably Paul
James - James (1/2 brother of Christ)
1&2 Peter - Peter
1,2&3 John - John
Jude - Jude (1/2 brother of Christ)
Revelation - John
As to why I myself believe:
I grew up in the church. However, each individual's faith in God is their own. It's called "free will". The Bible states that there will be those who hear the word and refuse to accept it. I have heard and I cannot deny it. It is simply written in my heart. Aside from that, there is the evidence. Archaeological evidences, such as (to name a few) the Dead Sea scrolls, which contain some of the books of the Old Testament, and the people called the Hittites, which were once thought to be fictional but were found to be at one time a real people. (For more, try this webpage http://www.christiananswers.net/q-abr/abr-a009.html) There are fulfilled prophecies within the Bible. One prophecy is that of the Jews. In Genesis 12:2,3 & 13:14, 15, God promises Abram 1) A great nation, 2) a great name & 3) a land which will forever belong to his descendants" Hundreds of years after this, the first promise was fulfilled and the people "numbered in the millions"and went in search of the promised land, led by Moses. They were given warnings and disobeyed. "He would use other nations to remove them from that land if they were unfaithful to Him. He predicted that they would eventually be scattered across the whole earth as strangers in unfamiliar lands and that they would find no rest from their wanderings. However, God in His faithfulness did promise to bring them back into their land." They were removed from their homeland 2 times and persecuted relentlessly. However, they returned to their homeland in 1948 (as the state of Israel) and their nation "never perished nor lost its national identity." They never became absorbed into any other culture. (From "A Ready Defense")
The fact that I was created in the first place. I do not believe in evolution. I believe in creation. A few reasons of many: 1) The fossil record. There is no evidence anywhere in the fossil record of any macro-evolution. There have been "findings" all proven false or made up. 2) Genetics. Any type of sub-species variation does not survive as well as the original. (This includes mutations. Look at Chernobyl...there has been nothing beneficial out of the mutations produced by that accident.)
Also, the Bible was written by various people from completely different backgrounds, from simple shepherds and fishermen to physicans and other educated men (none of them were perfect either....look at David, who loved God with all his heart, yet he sent the husband of the woman he fell in love with to the front line so he would be killed or Peter who cut off the ear of a Roman soldier when they went to arrest Jesus), over hundreds of years. Yet it is consistent. And it promises grace, mercy, unconditional love. Ask for forgiveness with all your heart and you will receive it. This is what saved David and Peter.

Therefore, I believe in God and I believe every word of the Bible because it is God breathed written by men and it is most definately, unquestionably verifiable.

I believe in God, because He believed in me first! The bible is a book that is faith based. There are historical facts in there, that can be proven. but I believe all of it because I believe in a supernatural God. I believe that it is Him, so that I can learn and grow.
