Johavah Witnesses say they will not celebrate any holidays or be apart of any holiday gatherings. It is also said that Johavah Witnesses Live for God, and do no more then serve him and please him. But no where in the bible does it say any Specific dates on when Jesus Christ was born. The day of Easter was when Jesus rose again, so why not celebrate Easter, since it symbolizes Jesus, and him rising again and going home to our father. And no one really knows when jesus Christs bithday is because it never says. And if Jesus was born in the winter, they would have been in caves, and not out in the open. But Christmas is said to Celebrate Christs Birthday. Why do you think that it has Christs name in it. CHRISTmas. Halloween is said to be the holiday of the Satan, but every one dresses up to scare away evil spirts. So why not celebrate Halloween, because it is being celebrated on the behalf of Christ. I will keep on celebrating these 3 because they are for the Lord.

The name of the Almighty true God is "Jehovah". The name of the true religion is "Jehovah's Witnesses".

Jehovah's Witnesses practice strict political and nationalistic neutrality, so they do not celebrate nationalistic holidays such as Independence Day and Memorial Day.

Other holidays derive from false religion, and so are incompatible with pure worship as adulterating interfaith. For example, Easter derives from the pagan god Oestre and celebrates "rebirth" and "fertility" instead of commemorating Christ's Last Supper and death as Jesus commanded:
(Luke 22:1-22) [Jesus] dispatched Peter and John, saying: “Go and get the passover ready for us to eat.” ...14 At length when the hour came, he reclined at the table, and the apostles with him. 15 And he said to them: “I have greatly desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer; 16 for I tell you, I will not eat it again until it becomes fulfilled in the kingdom of God.” ... Keep doing this in remembrance of me.”

Seemingly innocuous holidays may have only a tangential connection with false worship, such as Mother's Day and Father's Day (although arguably derived from ancestor worship). Understated observance of these is not generally considered interfaith by Jehovah's Witnesses, but it is too easily misunderstood in some cultures.

Since such celebrations are not required in true worship, and can easily become a distraction, so Jehovah's Witnesses focus their attention elsewhere. In particular, they are focussed on the preaching work which *IS* a requirement for Christians:

(Luke 10:1-17) [Jesus] the Lord designated seventy others and sent them forth by twos in advance of him into every city and place to which he himself was going to come. 2 Then he began to say to them: “The harvest, indeed, is great, but the workers are few. Therefore beg the Master of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest.

First off... Easter was a Celtic holiday celebrating fertility, and the Celts didn't believe in Jesus. The Catholic church comined easter into thier religion to make it easier to convert the Celts, so Easter is not a biblical holiday. The date December 25 was chosen around the year 274 so that it would correspond with 'Dies Natalis Solis Invicti' A pagan holiday centered around the birth of the sun (not the son) this again was done by the Roman church during a yeah when the 'cult of the sun' was particularly strong in rome. Halloween can be traced back to pagans who morned the passing of the nephlim during the flood. Hence it was started to morn Half human half demon creatures.... not very holy. So as you can see Christmas, Easter and Halloween all have Pagan origins, this is why Jehovah's witnesses refuse to participate.

If you do your research you will find out that Christmas was blended with a pagan holiday and that is why it is on that date.

Jesus never said to remember his birth but his death. Remembering his death has nothing to do with the Easter bunny and eggs. These are associated with pagan celebrations.

They don't celebrate halloween because they don't believe in witches, goblins etc...and if it is based on all saint's day, they don't believe in that holiday either because it isn't part of their faith. Besides, Halloween reduces inhibitions by giving people the chance to be or do things that otherwise they wouldn't do and it could be bad.

The only birthday's celebrations mentioned in the bible were 2 and in both cases followers of god were killed. Birthdays were only reserved for royalty in those days. Most of those people were pagan and wanted to make themselves god.

Therefore, how can you say you are doing something for the Lord when he never told you to do it?

the effort-free answer is they sense that contemporary holiday journeys and something related to nationalism isn't Godly based. in spite of the undeniable fact that, i'm particular your ultimate buddy could be keen to describe to you and answer the different questions you have! My buddy is a Jehovhah's Witness, and that i've got asked all of them categories of questions and that they in no way have been given too preachy (if that's what you're terrified of). there's a stable hazard they are going to savour you asking them questions quite than based on the information superhighway, the place you're probable going to get lots of opinionated solutions via people who are not in the church.

Enjoy your life, have fun with your family and friends on the holidays.
You know in your heart at Jesus and God would want you to enjoy your life.
Forget the dates they are not important whats important is what you do with your life.

Its too bad that the Johvan Witnesses dont celebrate holidays I think they are missing out on the fun.

I think the best way to serve God. Is to help each other, Love one another, & enjoy the life he has given you.

Let your heart ( God ) guide you thru life.

Three Jehovah's witness visited my house one day, and when they were leaving we asked them to join us in prayer , one of the witness said "are you sick?" i replied no! he answered then why should i pray then, are you in need of anything? My mother said no, all we are asking is for everyone to join hands and pray. They got upset and said lady we don't say prayer just like that, THEY GOT UP AND LEAVE. I was overwhelmed by that experience. There has to be a specific reason or problem for them to pray and i don't believe that is right so what are they saying that only when they need something they ask god for help ......Isn't that selfish? I try to pray every day no matter what and you are correct they don't celebrate holidays that is so sad!!!!

I'd like to know why they can celebrate wedding anniversaries. Why can they not celebrate anything even if it has to do with Jesus, like Christmas and Easter, but can celebrate getting married.
