don't ask her if she likes you...tell her that you like her...ask her out...she won't bite you, and she will feel more secure answering you if she knows where you stand from the start.
And, don't play any games, don't by sly, or subtle...be straight forward, that's how you would want her to be...treat her like you would expect to be treated.

maybe you could but first try to be more subtle and ask a friend to ask him/her if they like you if they say yes ask them for yourself.
