Whether it's big poofy robes, necklaces, special collars, or pointy hats every religion seems to have some kind of official dress code.
What's up with that?
Personally I think it seems kind of cultish.

My church doesn't have a dress code. The bible does tell us that women should dress like women and men like men but it isn't particularly specific.

My church does ask that if you are going to be working at the church that day, ushering, nursery, etc, that the men wear a tie and the women a skirt/dress, but it's not required for attendance and working is strictly on a voluntary basis.

As unpopular as this reaction will make me i'm nonetheless going to declare that I accept as true with you. i think of that approximately extra desirable than only jobs with dress codes nevertheless. Any status dress code would desire to would desire to be upheld via all contributors who plan to make that section place component of their lives. I say that because of the fact of a controversy we had here in Canada. in the Royal Canadian Legion, it is a place which will pay homage to conflict veterans, it quite is code to not positioned on any style of head coverings, yet that became fought against via contributors of the Sikh faith who had to be waiting to positioned on their turbans interior the Legions because of their faith. i became against it from the commencing up as have been a lot of human beings I knew, yet freedom of religion reigned and that they get to. Upsets me nonetheless. )O(

I don't know why some do, but Christianity doesn't. Some Christians choose to dress modestly or wear certain types of dress, but there's no requirement.
