How can i change the settings of the system restore function on windows?

Right click on My Computer and select properties,select system restore and then actually it depends on what you want to do.
If you want to turn off system restore,Check the "Turn system restore off on all hard drives" box.
If you want to change the space available for system restore,select a drive,click settings and set the space accordingly.

you might try typing restore in the help box on your os, it should tell you how to enable, disable, change settings on the restore option.
