i dont understand how can someone convert to any religion if he\she doesnt want . what you believe is in your heart ,how can anyone come into your heart and change it
do we really understand the meanings of beliefs ?
so when they say they force christians, muslims or anyone elso to believe otherwise ,i think it cant b true
lets say , someone pointed a gun at you to convert so you said ok ok ,i shall say what ever you want me to say . DOES THIS MAKE YOU true believer ??

in islam ,when makkens were torturing muslims to leave islam ,one of the companians of prophet muhammed had to say what they want him to say only to let him go ,so he went to prophet muhammed to tell him what to do , prophet muhammed told him ,if they torturted you again ,only tell them what they wanna hear as allah said in quran (106. Whoever disbelieved in Allâh after his belief, except him who is forced thereto and whose heart is at rest with Faith ) 16-106

Interesting question. From a Christian perspective I would say in answer to your question:

1. It is not possible to become a "born again" Christian believer under such duress and any Christian that tried to secure a conversion by force, would not really be a Christian at all.

2. By the same token someone who was previously of a different faith could not be so prevented from becoming a Christian because as you say, this is something that happens internally.

3. There are however many Christians in this world who fear for their lives because of their conversion to Christianity. Indeed many have died because of their refusal to return to the spiritual bondage of a previously held belief.

4. It is possible to reject ones salvation in Christ and once rejected, it can not be recovered. So many Christians who have known the joy of Jesus in their lives, will not willfully place at risk their relationship with Jesus at any cost.

You pose an interesting question. Now if you try to impose your
beliefs on some one else like for instance in the(Dark Ages)like
the (Church)(catholics),by torture, burning at the stake and various
other means, most would say that that is wrong...But if you are a
Christian"true Christian!Would you not want to do as Christ Jesus
commanded his followers to do?Now if you look around you and
see that people that claim Christianity and claim to follow Christ
are doing anything but,Would you not want to help your (brother)
your fellow man to come to an accurate knowledge of the things
are required to please God?If you see things that are in direct
conflict with what Christ taught his followers, would you not want
to help your brother to see these things also?Is that CRAMING
your beliefs down others throats? How could that be when JESUS
said himself ;the greatest commandment is to love your
brother as yourself. Lets face it there are alot of religions that
claim to follow Christs teachings, but how many really do?Jesus
stated at John 15:19 his followers would be "no part of this world"
True Christians are to keep ourselves"without spot from the
world" Jas.1:27. Can that be said of those whose clergy and
other members are involved in politics,or whose lives are largely built around materialistic and fleshly desires? No !
attempting to force ones ideas or notions onto others is not the
right way to get a point across, but lovingly Reasoning with others.
Acts 17:2, 3 "according to Paul's custom he went inside to them..
..he reasoned with them from the scriptures, explanining and
proving by references that it was necessary for the Christ to
suffer and to rise from the dead."some times what we want
to hear isn't what we should hear.... Thank you......

I can't be forced at gunpoint to believe anything. I believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and he promised to deliver me from evil, so be it through death if He sees fit. Islam is very scarey stuff and If they were given to option to seek out the truth and knew they didn't have to be afraid even though may die for it they would. Either way death is held over the heads of their people regardless.

there is a difference between coercion and free will in changing religious belief systems. after all each person has a right to decide which religion they are going to follow and no one should have the right or authority to force a change in what religion any individual wants to follow.

Through years of conditioning almost from birth has hooked a lot of people in the religion racket.

You could essentially take a group of kids from birth and turned them into killing machines with no re-mores if you wanted to. If you are taught that it is your duty and your duty to God.
