Don't target losing more than about 2 lbs per week. If you try to lose faster, your body will go into "starvation mode" and get very stingy about burning calories while at the same time very efficient about storing any calories that you do provide. And it will make you feel awful.

There is no site specific way of losing fat... the old myth about working your abs to burn belly fat isn't true. To get rid of love handles, you need to lose overall fat. That happens with exercise and watching your diet. More on that below.

The most effective way to lose fat is aerobic exercise in the "moderate" fat-burning range, ideally first thing in the morning before you eat. When you wake your body is ready to burn fat and your levels of growth hormone are highest at that time. Later in the day it can take up to 30 minutes just to put your body into a fat-burning mode.

Another overlooked way to burn fat is by lifting weights. Skeletal muscle has very high caloric needs... almost twice that of adipose (fat) tissue. Put on a little muscle and you will burn calories all day even at rest. Be aware that skeletal muscle weighs more, so with this approach you may see your weight increasing while your body fat is melting away. Not realizing this often stresses folks who think they should be losing weight as a measure of fitness. Forget the scale, look in the mirror and you will be happy.

To lose a pound of fat, you need to eliminate about 3500 calories. You can do this by burning more with exercise or by modifying your diet to reduce intake. If you do a Google search on say, "swimming calories" you will quickly find a website with tables of calories burned for a given exercise. You can use such lists to estimate how many calories you are burning up with your routine.

For diet, keep a diary for a couple of weeks counting calories, grams of protein, and grams of fat intake. It is easy with online sources of nutritional information (type the name of the food and calories into the Google search engine) and packaging labels. That will let you quickly figure out where the fat is coming from in your diet.

Fat gives you 9 calories per gram. So take the number of grams of fat, multiply by 9, then calculate what percentage the fat calories are of your total daily calories. Restricting the calories from fat to about 20% of your total intake is ideal for a maintenance diet... that isn't overly restrictive. Of note, you need some fat in your diet. For instance, the body uses fat to produce hormones. Once you have a picture of how to modify your diet, you can drop the diary and just go back to it occasionally if you are wanting to tweek things further.

There is a subset of questions that goes further and asks about "How to get a six-pack?" The answer is the same. Six-packs are 20% abdominal exercise and 80% diet. There is one caveat... abdominal muscles will form in the position that you work them, so be certain to pull them tightly toward your spine while doing crunches, etc. Also, during most lifting, the "core is active" which means that you should be stabilizing with contracted abs then too. Fail to do this and the abs will form, but bulging outward and the result is not attractive.

If you are trying to build muscle as a way to lose fat, then you may need to increase total calories and specifically your protein intake. I target about 0.8 g of protein per pound of body weight each day when actively building. That is far more protein than most people need in their diets.

The best way to lose weight is to do it slowly. Studies have proven that those who lose weight rapidly are much more likely to regain the weight (and then some).
To lose weight effectively you should increase the amount of excercise you do and watch your food intake. Cut out junk food and eat less carbs (bread, pasta,etc.). Eat more healthy foods such as fruit and vegetables.Drink lots of water instead of pop.
You should only be aiming to lose a few pounds a week. This is easily done by making little changes and over time makes big differences.

There is no safe way to lose an extreme amount of weight quickly.
The best way is to eat about 1300 calories a day along with 45 minutes or so of exercise. Keep a journal of what you eat and how many calories. (You can find plenty of websites if you search.) Keep portion size in mind. Your stomach is generally the size of your fist. Generally, your portions should be no larger than the size of your palm, if that much with some things. Stick with plenty of fruits, vegetables and water. Make sure you include some complex carbohydrates with lean protein. It isn't easy, but it works.

If you are looking at supplementing your diet with fat burning and appetite suppressing, you might want to look at something that has a complete package. I have been using Stack Body Tune Up. It has a protein ice cream drink that I replace my breakfast with, citrus/lemon booster that I drink during the day, and herbal supplements that I take with each meal.

I have lost 32 pounds since July 15, 2006. My blood glucose was 250 and after 24 days, it came within normal range and has been there since. My blood pressure was extremely high and now it is in the borderline range.

So far, this Stack has been safe for me. My sister has been using the Stack and she has some heart issues. She hasn't seen any side effects. There are several others that are using this and they haven't had any side effects.

If I can be of assistance, let me know.

there is no easy way, losing weight takes time. If you cut the junk food, drink lots of water and exercise,(I love to power walk for 30 minutes a day) you will loose weight. Slimfast is good for temporary weight loss but if you are not careful you will gain it all back and more. Replace one meal with a healthy salad, easy on the dressing. Most important is to exercise!!!
Good luck.

Lose weight with negative calorie foods

The foods, which utilize more calories to digest than the calorie foods in fact have, are known as negative calorie foods. It is harder for the body to consume calories from these negative calorie foods. I mean to say that our body has to work hard in order to take out calories from these foods. With this kind of food very small amount of calorie actually turn in to fat, as there is very small amount of calorie available.

You will get the maximum benefit of negative calorie foods when you take them alone without any junk food. There are large number of fruits and vegetables, which are having negative calorie results. Some of these foods are Raspberry, papaya, strawberry, zucchini, Carrot, Beets, and Asparagus.

I COULD SAY CUT OFF YOUR HEAD BUT THAT WOULD BE RUDE AND NASTY SO YOU CAN RUN AND DIET . YOU HAVE TO RUN AS FAR AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN AND STRIVE TO INCREASE YOUR DISTANCE EVERY DAY, ALSO YOU NEED TO DIET BY WATCHING YOUR CARB AND FAT INTAKE. CARBS ARE VERY IMPORTANT WHE N YOU TRY TO LOOSE WEIGHT. IF YOU DO LOOSE IT YOU HAVE TO STAY ON THE DIET FOR LIFE OR YOU WILL GAIN IT ALL BACK PLUS A LOT MORE. SORRY TO TELL YOUI THIS BUT ITS TRUE
