If a person accepts Christ out of fear of going to Hell, and continues to serve God for the very same reason, does that
mean he was never truly saved?

It was always my understanding that if you believe for purely selfish, self-serving reasons, you aren't a true follower. That's why "fire and brimstone" preaching always confused me... if people are going to turn to Jesus merely out of a desire to save their rear ends from burning for all eternity, then who are these doom and gloom preachers REALLY saving?

If he only fears hell and has never tasted the sweetness of the Grace of Christ and the forgiveness of sins he is not serving God but his own self interests. Those who know the grace of God would rather go to hell then bring any injustice to the cause of Christ. Yes the fear of hell may be used of God as a time of chastening but the born again believer comes to know the love of God and truly loves Him back. He comes to realize God loves him only because He wants to and not because of anything good in himself sinner that he is, Oh what love and mercy!

Jesus Christ is the Lord now and why not be fearful of the one God?

THE GOD OF HEAVEN IS THE LORD

First of all it must be known who the God of heaven is, since upon that all the other things depend. Throughout all heaven no other than the Lord alone is
acknowledged as the God of heaven. There it is said, as He Himself taught,

That He is one with the Father; that the Father is in Him, and He in the Father; that he who sees Him sees the Father; and that everything that is holy goes forth from Him (John 10:30, 35; 14:9-11; 16:13-15).

I have often talked with angels on this subject, and they have invariably declared that in heaven they are unable to divide the Divine into three, because they know and perceive that the Divine is One and this One
is in the Lord. They also said that those of the church who come from this world having an idea of three Divine beings cannot be admitted into heaven,
since their thought wanders from one Divine being to another; and it is not allowable there to think three and say one.{1} Because in heaven everyone speaks from his thought, since speech there is the immediate product of the thought, or the thought speaking. Consequently, those in this world who have divided the Divine into three, and have adopted a different idea of each, and have not made that idea one and centered it in the Lord, cannot be received into heaven, because in heaven there is a sharing of all thoughts, and therefore if any one came thinking three and saying one, he would be at once found out and rejected. But let it be known that all those who have not separated what is true from what is good, or faith from love, accept in the other life, when they have been taught, the heavenly idea of the Lord, that He is the God of the universe. It is otherwise with those who have separated faith from life, that is, who have not lived according to the precepts of true faith (Heaven and Hell n.2).

Preaching the reality of hell, without using the Law to bring the knowledge of sin, can do a great deal of damage to the cause of the gospel. A sinner cannot conceive of the thought that God would send anyone to hell, as long as he is deceived into thinking that God’s standard of righteousness is the same as his. Paul "reasoned" with Felix regarding righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come (Acts 24:25). This is the righteousness that is of the Law and judgment by the Law. Felix "trembled" because he suddenly understood that his intemperance made him a guilty sinner in the sight of a holy God. The reality of hell suddenly became reasonable to him when the Law was used to bring the knowledge of sin.

Imagine if the police burst into your home, arrested you, and shouted, "You are going away for a long time!" Such conduct would probably leave you bewildered and angry. What they have done seems unreasonable. However, imagine if the law burst into your home and instead told you specifically why you were in trouble: "We have discovered 10,000 marijuana plants growing in your back yard. You are going away for a long time!" At least then you would understand why you are in trouble. Knowledge of the law you have transgressed furnished you with that understanding. It makes judgment reasonable.

Hell-fire preaching without use of the Law to show the sinner why God is angry with him will more than likely leave him bewildered and angry—for what he considers unreasonable punishment.

only like you stated, there is little doubt that Jesus (pbuh) is returning and there is little doubt that the anti-Christ will come to deceive a lot of human beings earlier his go back. it really is not any longer precisely who Jesus (pbuh) accepts, yet truly who human beings accepts him at the same time as he returns. That section is as a lot as us, we get to make certain on no matter if we settle for him or no longer. And our faith will ascertain our selection because those who're weak in faith will follow the anti-Christ truly, would Allah safeguard us from him and his corruptions. From what i recognize by many lectures, the final public which will follow Jesus (pbuh) will be Muslims authentic to their faith, and also some Christians who see the reality once he returns. yet even many Muslims who're weak in faith will finally end up following the anti-Christ because he's amazingly deceptive such as his powers. the base line is, those who fairly have self belief in a unmarried God and do not associate Jesus (pbuh) or all of us else to Him will see the reality inshallah and may want to be those who settle for Jesus (pbuh). those are the folk with such good faith that makes them responsive to the deceptions of the anti-Christ. To my Muslim brothers and sisters, take the danger to memorize the first and extremely last 10 verses of Surat al-Kahf so as that if we stay contained in the era of the Dajjal and Isa (as), we will be secure hostile to the deceptions and be on Jesus' aspect! Salaam~

It's simple, because no man ever believes that the Bible means what it says: He is always convinced that it says what he means. You can find this every where you look when questioning the Bible to it's followers. It's so easy to not be fool by this because most of the hard core religious types are not intelligent enough to make their religious spin sound believable, that's why they tend to resort to threats like your going to hell; any fool can threaten another, that takes no intelligence what so ever.

Is there any other reason to accept Christ? If we were not so afraid of death and the here after there would be no reason for any religion to exist.

we are no one to really judge because it could have started out of fear but the Lord knows what he's doing in each of our lives and all we can do is wait for the Lord word in his/her life.
