They don't appear to do very much at all. They are too busy getting their targets like traffic offences, speeding etc. But when a friend called to say that a squad of little boys were wrecking an old lady's garden, how long did it take for the cops to arrive, 45 minutes and that was one solitary beat bobby! The boys were long gone and the garden was mush. Yet again, an easy job for them and they couldnt attend. It wasnt like there were any mass murders going on at the time!

No. Have you heard of the true story in which a burglar went to someone's house in the early hours of the morning and took a family's valuables, and the man o' the house punched him and got a prison sentence while the burglar got off free and kept the valuables as well?

Also, a special needs teacher fired an air-pistol at the feet of a gang leader that had terrorized her for 5 years and lost her job and got fined £120?

Ridiculous. Completely ridiculous.

In the USA I don't think they would turn a blind eye to this. Regardless of how the criminals got the goods. It would be a crime for someone to steal from them. I know it doesn't seem fair. But if everyone went around stealing from stealers what kind of state would we be in?

HAha - A nice idea - but you will find that the police all of a sudden have all the resources and manpower in the world to deal with someone who hurts a precious criminal.

Believe me you will be public enemy number one even if you look at a peado the wrong way.

Having said that - the best of luck to you my friend - don't get caught!!!

Probably not as the criminals would go squealing and moaning to the police that they had been a VICTIM of crime and DEMANDING that the police do something about it.

The police, no matter what their personal feelings, would be duty bound to investigate and protect the poor squealing little cherubs!!!

You have to talk to Chopper Reid in Australia. He made a living out of Robbing Criminals. He got the name Chopper from chopping criminals fingers & toes off if they didn't give him their loot. He did OK. As he said he never hurt a law abiding citizen.

In police parlance, this is often referred to as a double header. Two for the price of one. One crook robs another crook. A case is made against the robber and the robb'ee'. Both go to jail.

It's more revered in homicide cases though. One street useless street thug kills another doper, useless street thug. Then the surviving useless thug is prosecuted and sent away for the rest of his/her life, so society ends up with a population reduction of two, all from the same event. :) The lord works in strange ways, but the lord knows the right of his toil.

I'm sorry my friend...........but NO. That would be cool. Let's say your Mum's house gets burglarized, I mean they take everything, but wait........isn't there this new service,"WE CROOK CROOKS" Yeah, you're right, they'll take care of those dirty guys....I'll get your things back Mum, we'll get the extended plan, those guys from "CROOKS" will take the crooks things as well. It's too bad that wouldn't work. In a small way that would be what's called "Vigilantism". Illegal in my Country and yours. That's right "Old Man", they would put you and me in jail for doing exactly the same thing....plus they would try to charge us with the "Vigilante" crime. Might be a good idea, if they wouldn't put a guy in jail LOL.............LATER

No, you have still committed an offence under the theft act, because you are still permanently depriving the original lawful owner of their property.

If you return the property to its lawful owner then you are simply making a recovery of stolen property and intent to permanently deprive no longer exists, it is therefore not theft.

This does not mean that other offences have not been committed during the recovery process.

Don't do it.

First of all most criminals aren't even going to report the crime. If you are committing crimes against criminals you should be more worried about the criminals catching you than the cops catching you. A cop may throw your butt in jail but a criminal is likely to slit your throat.
