why are japanese men stereotypically perverted/?
i kjnow they arent all perverted but how did they get that reputation?? what are they perverted by?

Cultures filter information about each other through a kind of distorting filter. Japanese people have the same issues, desires, wishes & fears that everyone else does. They can, however, buy porn mags from vending machines, read them on the way home on the train & leave them in the train when they get off.
If Americans had vending machines that sold porn mags ...
1) there would be protests by groups of people unfamiliar with the first ammendment ,
2) they would stick them in their back pocket & stow them in the garage where the wife would discover them after 5 years or so & be shocked.

There is another explanation. In Japan, there is a concept called soto & uchi. Uchi is "inside" . Inside is where Japanese people live, bound by their rules of conduct. Soto is everywhere & everyone outside Japan. When Japanese people leave Japan they may say & do things (in the state of temporary soto of their trip) that would never happen in Japan & which people back home never hear of.

If someone is Japanese from Japan out there please comment.

Interesting, as I've never heard this stereotype and generalization. However, I am aware of the "small endowement" factor which is generally assumed. If any insight can be offered, it might have to do with the culturally, quite nature of many Japanese, and their non aggressive styles in social situations. Perhaps when they aren't dominate in other areas, (or perceived that way), then a sexual outlet is necessary and used to balance it out.

It's like that in many instances, one can very dominate in certain areas, then submissive in others, however there isn't a cultural divide, as this can be found in all sexes, all races, etc.

Perverted, well that a bit different, but I've shed some light. I do know Japanese television isn't as prudish and censored as American tv, so therefore, they can riduculed as being sexually perverted. Guess some cultures just dont' have the hangups that others cultures do. Same thing as Europeans.

Interesting q.
I recall seeing a 20/20 type show on this topic. They had hidden cameras and trvelled by subway etc and the men were pinching any asses they wanted and the women did not respond. It seems men are supposed to be very discreet about it, but they are public fondlers.
