I asked a question about pedophilia not being mentioned as wrong in the Bible.

One answer stated "Does God have to tell someone of average intelligence that having sex with children is wrong? God gave us a brain he expects us to use it".

This means God didn't think it was common sense for me to assume murder was wrong? Or beastiality? Or stealing? He only assumed it was common sense to assume pedophilia is wrong?

Yet, that God had to teach me homophilia is wrong, menstruation is unclean and it's wrong to eat shell fish. Even to wear clothes of mixed fabric.

But he assumed pedophilia to be an abomination to be left to 'common sense'.

Seems kinda odd to me.

Pedophilia is an abomination to me. It doesn't seem to be an abomination to God. Sad.

It's always refreshing to see another thinking person. Isn't it funny how the Bible-thumpers are pointing to "Thou shalt not commit adultery"? So, I guess there were no singles back in biblical times, eh?

Pedophilia is an abomination in the bible where it lists the sexual sins in Leviticus.

You may call it incest, or homosexual, or rape, or adultary.... Whatever, it isn't a married relationship between one man and one woman, so is a form of adultary (sex with others than spouse or future spouse).

Thou shalt not commit adultary is written in 10 commandments.

I wonder if you are a pedophile & trying to claim that God doesn't think it is wrong.

Also, when Jesus said that it would be better for someone to be thrown into the sea, than what would happen to them if they offend the little ones seeking Jesus Christ, would indicate what He thought about pediphiles. Also when He said that if a member of the body can't help from sinning, especially to children, better to pluck the eye out or cut off the hand rather than end up in hell fire. So that would also indicate what Jesus Christ thought about offending the children. (Matthew18:6-10)

There are many mentions of children and how they should be treated in the Bible. Jesus demonstrates how we should relate to children by his actions and says that none should harm the innocents. It is always wrong to impose ones will on another. And what of virtue? Pedophilia is the destroyer of virtue.

When the Bible says, "Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery" it means don't have sex with ANYBODY who you aren't married to. And since you can't marry a child you can't have sex with a child. And since you can't marry an animal you can't have sex with them either. Hello... do you need me to go on or is this starting to make sense now?

What the heck does, "I guess there were no singles back in biblical times" mean? Of course there were. And they were to abstain from sex until they got married. This is NOT a difficult concept, so why do so many people fail to understand it?

It's simple, because no man ever believes that the Bible means what it says: He is always convinced that it says what he means. You can find this every where you look when questioning the Bible to it's followers. It's so easy to not be fool by this because most of the hard core religious types are not intelligent enough to make their religious spin sound believable, that's why they tend to resort to threats like your going to hell; any fool can threaten another, that takes no intelligence what so ever.

Just as I thought, you didn't read my answer, you were too busy looking for an answer that you could criticize and take more cheap shots at Christianity and the bible.

They are born that way—just as all of us are born with a sin nature and sinful desires (Ephesians 2:1– ). Tell them that it is natural for them, and for all of us, to be tempted to do things that God says are wrong. In the same way, pedophiles and adulterers (alcoholics, drug addicts, etc.) don’t make a conscious decision to "choose" that self-destructive lifestyle, they simply give in to their sinful desires. However, although sin is natural for unbelievers, that doesn’t mean God wants them to remain that way. God can set them free from their sinful nature (Romans 7:23–8:2), give them new desires (Ephesians 4:22–24), and help them withstand temptations (1 Corinthians 10:13). See 1 Corinthians 6:9– 1 footnote

I'm sorry God didn't mention every single possible evil but maybe
you should spend less time on the negative an more on the positive.

"But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in Me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea" (Matthew 18:10, King James Version).
