gotten from their vet. they were cropped thursday and left to heal without taping others say that they should be tapped right away. what are some opinions of aftercare?

As a Veterinary Technician, I am here to tell you that every vet deals with ear cropping aftercare differently. At the clinic where I work, we tape the ears for the first 7 days. When the pup comes back at the 7 day mark for suture removal, the ears are left un-taped for a few days and then re-taped until they decide to stand on their own.

all cropped ears should be taped. The reason, you cropped them for a reason, to make them nice an point, if you don't tape them, THEY WILL droop. what I do with my dobermans adn schnauzers is taht i have them cropped one day, tape them for 3-4 weeks. At the start of week 2, i place a post inbetween teh tears, at the tips, to keep the ears fully erect and so they stay fully pointy after removing the tape. They sell inserts for this but since you already have them cropped, you wont' get them in time. So, tape them up for the next 3-4 weeks. At 2 weeks, find a post to go at the tips (from tip to tip). I know you have a boxer but it is roughly the same thing only with a sharper angle cut. Hope it helped.
Oh yeah, you can place a third post betwen the ears at the tips to add another anchor.

i've never not seen ears taped after cropping. obviously ur vet gave u instuctions on care, just do exactly as he wants u too

Use the cup-method,it seems to produce the best results.
