I went thru a big thing with Microsoft and Spyware and when I tried to use my microphone and speakers they didn't work anymore! Can I turn them on without going back to Microsoft?

Go to My computer - right click - properties -hardware - device drivers. Now find sound. Go through those one by one and try reinstalling the drivers - uninstall and reinstall if necessary. These things reinstall themselves if you reboot. That should solve you problem. if your Microsoft problem was Windows genuine Advantage. search for WGA in files and delete them all. two won't delete - so move them to your desktop. Right click the taskbar and run task manager - click task manager - then processes - highlight WGAtray.exe and click end process - that will stop the bugger running. Then delete it from your desktop. then reboot and delete the other file. ut if microsoft still believe your windows isn't genuine - even if it obviously is because you are a NHS doctor in A&E - then stop automatic updates or they'll install their spyware again. Have fun! lol
