I've heard about BearShare, LimeWire, Morpheus, etc., but I don't know what to use. I want something that I can use and won't have to worry about Spyware, Adware, Malware, or anything like that.

I know that BearShare adds a program to "help" you search for things by monitoring what you search for and then giving popup adds based on what you've searched for. But I've read the service agreement and I know how to remove it (as far as I know) completely.

I've read that Morpheus "The current version of Morpheus, version 5.2.3 does not install adware or spyware to your computer, but it does install some Desktop shortcuts to adware websites. When Morpheus is open and running, the interface is cluttered with online ads, because adware is still present in the current versions" (http://www.wikipedia.org/).

Also I've read and heard that LimeWare is often associated with Malware (Viruses, etc.)

But honestly I don't know what to use and I want an honest and trustworthy answer.

Please Help!

You have to sign up for a free account. You might need an invite but you would have to give someone your E-mail address who already has an account. It has just about every song imaginable but the uploader to seeder ratio isn’t that great because this website is a hidden gem. This site has been around for at least three years and has never switched hosts or gone down for obvious reasons.

I've had limewire for a long time now and haven't gotten a virus from it. Any of these programs can let viruses into your computer so in addition to the program you should download some kind of virus protection, which btw i wouldn't recommend Norton i have it and hate it. Limewire however is really good, they have a new feature that lets people mark songs as trash so that other users know what isn't good. I've only gotten 2 bad songs off of the program and i've been using it quite awhile. Try it, you'll like it. Morpheus sucks, just don't get it, it sucks.

i ve never used bearshareor morpheus but from what u ve said they dont sound very good.
i ve been using limewire for over a year and havent had any problems with it. however use common sense when downloading in order to avoid downloading something which is not what u want. However limewire has a small archive when compared to other progs so it is not very good if u want to download old music or unpoplar music.
Lately ive also started using torrents which also seem to work fine - it will take a hile to get used to htem but the archive is is way bigger. im using bit torrent which u can download for free and than use anyof the recommended sites to download the torrent form.

Get frostwire instead of limewire... it's the exact same, except it won't ask you to buy the full version.

Frostwire doesn't have spyware, but anytime you have a p2p community, people will try to disguise viruses as legit files. If you have a virus scanner working this shouldn't be a problem. Also, the only files that contain viruses are ".exe" files and ".rar" or ".zip" files. Music and video files can't have viruses (they're "read only").

Limewire Pro. But also BitTorrent for whole albums and huge compilations.Use some common sense when downlading on Limewire, like look at the file size you are downloading to be sure that it is a file large enough to be the file you need. Use your virus scanner before opening anything you are not sure about.

There's tons of free music downloading software out there. Unfortunately there is lots of spy ware, ad ware etc, on most of them. If you have a firewall or even some type of anti virus, you should be good to go with Lime wire. If you still don't like that, then like you said, Bear share is always good. There are programs out there, you may have to pay a few dollars for but hey its worth it if you don't want spy ware and such unwelcome files.

When you listen to music on the radio you are free to record it for
personal use. Same with listening to music on the Inet! Not illegal

Record what you listen to:

You may have to edit what you record:

One other thing, no viruses or spyware this way!

Have fun but be safe!
