They can drink and eat anytime that they want to. Only the stupid ones go south to Antarctica. They would starve to death.

Most people pick and choose whatever religious rules are convenient for their lifestyles and selfish desires and ignore the rest. It is a shallow form of 'buffet' spirituality.
I am sure the people you mention find someway to rationalize not following their scriptures.
