I need Ideas for my high school prom. Something that is not original.

How about "Moonlit Night?" Have the art club make a backdrop that resembles the famous "Starry Night" painting for the photos that will be taken.
Make paper moons and stars to put the couples names on. Decorate with dark blues and silver. It would be really pretty. You could also include golds and/or yellows.
How about an ocean paradise? You can have blues and greens and flowing pieces of inexpensive fabric to decorate railings, etc.

Do you need a dress idea or a theme. well here is a theme idea. you can be in a gallery showing off portraits or pictures of anything, but stick with one main idea. keep in mind that in galleries you also have statues and paintings. so have fun with it. take the pictures your self or get someone else to do it. it might be better if the person who took the pictures goes to your school that way people will recognize the pictures and the people in the pictures, or just the style in which the pictures were taken.
