Most pet store in the UK sell iodine blocks for birds and these can be put in the cage or aviary for for you birds.

Why not try a health shop. They may have what your looking for, If you can't get the iodine there, then check with your vet if there is an alternative that you can give them. I don't think they would charge you to give you that information.

I used to work at a plant nursery and we sold many types of seaweed in liquid form. Some of the packaging stated that it was also suitable for animal consumption.

go to the pet shop and you can buy an iodine block i use it on my budgies and they love it. also try spinach. just hang the leaves on the cage and they will do the rest of the work.

They will get bye quite well on any other halogen - flourine (feed them toothpaste), chlorine (gas them), bromine (supress their ermmm, instincts, ahem) or astatine (they will look even lovelier in the dark).
