No, a gigolo is someone who gets paid...mistresses usually do NOT (that'd be a hooker). You could use the word, "Kept man", but it sounds wierd. Or "boy toy"....our culture doesn't even recognize that as something to have a word for! Just like it doesn't have real (derogatory) words for guys who have lots of sex partners. Women are "whores" but men are called "studs". It's totally gender-biased!

"Flake"
A "gigalo" is a guy who lives off of a woman in exchange for sex. This has nothing to do with being one of several guys that the woman has. The woman is usually monogamous.
I totally disagree that it's seen as good for men to sleep around and not for women. That's an old, old bias which just fuels promiscuous man-hating women. Out of all the promiscuous people I've met, the majority have been girls, not guys. They love that old argument because it makes them feel righteous about sleeping around, when the truth is they are just whores.

He's just a lover. Most women don't have male mistresses for long, they usually end up leaving their inadequate partner for the better lover!
