Good Cake Without Frosting

Yield: 1 Servings

3 c Flour
1/2 ts Ground cloves
1/2 ts Salt
1 c Shortening or lard
1/2 ts Cinnamon
1/2 ts Nutmeg
2 c Brown sugar

MMMMM------------------------EGG MIXTURE-----------------------------
1 c Sour milk
1 ts Baking powder
2 Eggs; beaten

Mix together flour, cloves, salt, shortening,
cinnamon, nutmeg and brown sugar. Take out 2/3 cup
of mixture for topping. To rest of mixture, add
milk, baking soda and eggs. Beat well. Pour batter
into greased pan; put egg mixture on top of cake
and bake in a slow oven till done.

you need 1 cup butter, 2 pounds of powdered sugar and 1 tbs of vanilla and then add milk to the consistency you want. You can also add cocoa to it if you want chocolate frosting.
