I am just wanting to see arguments for both sides of this debate. So please dont just say "Arminian", but rather explain why you are the way you are.

Technically, I'm an arminian, though I was first taught calvinist doctrine at a Presbyterian (Scottish Calvinist) church. It's hard for me to want to delve into a scripture battle on the subject because it never goes anywhere. Both sides have their particular favorites they site, and seem to completely ignore the other side of the argument, even though it is chalked full of scripture too. All this argument does is divide a church further. God knows every step we are bound to take and we have free will to do what we want. We can love Jesus and accept his gift of salvation or we can refuse it and die. In the long run, it doesn't matter if you are an arminian or calvinist. We are called to love others and share the gospel, period. No good can come from being on either side of this argument. Drop the arminian or calvinist name tag and label yourself with what C.S. Lewis called "Mere Christianity".

Lean toward Calvinist because both are in the scripture, but the scripture can not be true and deny Calvinist, the Calvinist is all throughout the Bible.

I believe in free will.

I don’t want to offend anybody and perhaps you can set me straight. But isn’t the whole concept of predestination kinda snobbish

I'm neither, I follow Christ, not men's theology.
