Why hasn't Yahoo Answers added an Atheist section? What can we do to get our own section?
It's hard trying to communicate with other atheists on Y Answers. :-( WE NEED OUR OWN SECTION! Dammit, if the religious can have one, then we should be entitled to our own section too!
Oh, if you're religious, please skip this question and go on to next one please. ;-)

One thing I really hate is how whenever I post a question relating to Atheism on the R&S section, I get bombarded with biblical quotes and insults.

Maybe like an Atheist, Agnostic & Other. Yeah, I'm pretty sure we could find other topics to talk about besides our "atheist-ness". I just prefer an environment where I dont have to worry as much about other users reporting me or insulting me because of my "atheist-ness". Lol.

I disagree. As an atheist, I do not need to discuss with other atheists the concept of atheism to further my atheistic-ness. However, I do enjoy answering questions regarding religion and atheism asked by people in this section.

I would think that as an Atheist would have an interest in religion.

There are forums that do cater to specific beliefs and non beliefs. I know many Atheists that are spiritual and this section does cover that. If not for this forum I do not think I would understand Atheism as I do now.

Blessings )O(

Edit : There are a few Christians that bombard anyone that doesn't subscribe to their theology. They do not reserve it for Atheists only.

I agree with you, not technically an atheist- definitely not religious though,I personally believe that religion is overrated. And religious people really need to get off of their soap box and need to stop preaching. Just because it is their faith doesn't make it right and doesn't mean others have to believe in it. Oh well.

And I hate to bring this up, but atheisim(I guess thats what you call it) is technically a religion too..

It doesn't make much sense to add an atheist section when atheists are only ten to fifteen percent of the population. Besides, if Yahoo! did that then every religion and cult would want their own section as well.

It's bad enough that the godders keep whining "why do the nonbelievers hang around here anyway, why don't they mind their own business." Please, don't encourage them.

Unfortunately, despite being a "lack of religion" by definition, atheism is almost universally lumped into the religion/spirituality category of interest. Really and truly, I suppose that is accurate in the grand sense. If Yahoo! made a forum for every creed known to mankind, it would be enormous.

Amen to that!! Oops, sorry. I totally agree with you, but half the fun of being atheist is telling a religious person that you are atheist and watching them get all flustered and confused.

And what's up with all of my anti-religious questions getting deleted? But Yahoo not pulling the religious hate stuff I routinely see?

in all seriousness
what would an athiest have to discuss with other athiests regarding religion .. there would be no interesting debates on the subject
how can people of a religious belief question and analyse their own belief system without the athiest asking good questions
we need each other really ... dont change it

You should get an email or messenger list of all us atheists so we can start something. Oh wait, what if god doesn't allow it? Oh nooooooooooo!!! Seriously, you should.
