I think it's funny when atheists post answers to religious questions. Or when atheists post religious questions on this forum. Are they trying to preach atheism? Or are they actually agnostic? Why would atheists do this? It should be that they really don't care. So, why answer? But, yet they do answer, proving that they are really not 100 percent certain that there is NO God. So, think about it atheists...are you atheists or are you agnostic? Pick one, make up your mind!

By the way...this not to be a negative question. I just want to understand why. If atheists want to preach atheism, they have every right, no problem. But, let's make sure we all have the facts! I am a firm believer of science. But, let's hear ALLLLL the science!!! That may prove something. But, until, I hear ALLLLL the science, then there really is nothing to prove. It really can go both ways. People who believe in God do not have all the answers, but neither do atheists. So, until both sides have ALLLLL the answers, let's just believe what we choose and not bother anyone with it? You know?

Actually, I'm an atheist and the reason I come on here to ask and answer questions is to get people to think and use their brains instead of regurgitating the intellectual pablum that has been fed to them their entire lives. If we did not ask questions or attempt to investigate our own pre conceived ideas we would still believe the earth is flat.

You can easy turn this question around and apply it to the religious:
Christians would do the same thing. They would post and answer questions on the Atheist Section if there was one. They would also preach religion on the Atheist Section. Also, they too could be agnostic.

Many atheists have done a great deal of philosophical research and theological debate in order to reach the conclusion that they don't believe in a omnipotent creator. To tar all atheists, agnostics, humanists and free thinkers with the same brush is as short sighted as to believe all theists (of whatever faith) believe in the same set of values. Neither is a constructive perspective. Open your mind a little.

Atheism is considered a religion by some. It is an active practice of a disbelief in God. I could just as easily say that Christianity is not a religion and say that it is actually superstition.
Notice that their answers all point to: THERE IS NO GOD. I'm pretty sure they don't think there is a God.

This is an old and silly argument. The same as saying to someone who has just hit his thumb with a hammer, "Ha ha! You said 'Jesus Christ!', you must believe, you must belie..eve."
If I can make one point of reason opposing blind faith that sticks in a readers mind, I'll be a happy camper. I think that it' s 'funny' that you find it necessary to post this snide comment/question. Where else would an atheist post a religious question?
Are you thinking that if we have absolutely no faith then we've lost our 'priviledges' in this regard? Well think again funnyman, I'll ask or answer any damn question that I like, you have the priviledge of ignoring the question/answer if you like.

reddportleft,
YEAH! That is rather funny! And then when they try to condemn Christianity with a Bible verse, it's actually pathetic. They don't know what they are talking about, having not the understanding that the Holy Spirit gives. They don't realize that their quote is all wrong, without any idea of how much and how to distribute the weight of it.
I see it as when I went surfing for the first time. I was given a little board, and only got on it after trying all day until I gave up on it. I was like a fish out of water until then. The thing would squirt out from under me constantly.
That's what I see with Atheists.

I don't think everyone who posts a question is preaching. Also one doesn't have to be a religious person to have an opinion. Why is it so important to make up ones mind?

And why do atheists seem to care about what people believe?
I mean if there is nothing to believe in why would you want to turn people away from their beliefs, would you not just be concerned about your own personal beliefs?
Clearly they are doing the work of someone.

I can give you a FEW reason...
I personally didn't even bother with this section until posts that talked or asked about us drew me here. So for the religious people that were talking about us, generally badly, it is their own fault.
I know this is the same for others.
Some have a taste for the controversy.
"Know thy enemy"
And whatever else.
