For those who don't know, born again christians argue you have faith that when you sit down on a chair it will be there to keep you up.

But is it faith or is it knowledge of how the natural universe works. If I sit on a chair it seats me. I can repeat this expiriment and as long as the chair is in good working condition I will be seated.

If the chair fails its because of the laws of nature, that it wasn't able to handle my wieght and it broke.

Is there any repeatable verifiable expiriment we can run to find out if God is a real entity?

Is God really there good question but in order to handle the anwser you must be totaly honest, of all the universe, all the knowledge there is how much knowledge do you belive you have, the smartest person ever perhaps 10% and thats really giving a lot, the 90% you have no idea even where to look, don't have a clue that its even there CAN GOD LIVE THERE, yes? Okay part two, take for example a space ship, the raw materials and put them in a container and shake it up, how long that way would it take for you to get a rocket, never right, someone has to make it, okay You have a designer, God, last part the ten commandments [not suggestions] they are the baise for our laws and in every country that you would feel save to visit, so if thats real so is the rest.of The Bible is inspired and Holy too, speaking of which free bible lessons www.itiswritten.com God bless you and EMAIL not messanger me if you have questions too wgr88@yahoo.com

First off I am a Christian.

Somewhere I heard this and I use it often in explaining how we know God exists.

Lets say you were an astronaut and you went out into space with NASA. You found a planet and found an object that you had never seen before (what we humans know is a violin). But let's pretend you had never saw a violin before.
So you pick it up touch it study it and see the many intricate components and the way it makes music etc...

Now then would you say to yourself:
A) Wow I want to talk to the guy who make this intricate awesome creation, He must be a genius!
OR
Would you say:
B) Whup-e-do something exploded and Voila! This piece of beauty came from a big bang theory!

No Way.

Everything goes from order slowly to disorder.
Not disorder to order.
A clean desk slowly gets disorganized.
That's why there are now more than ever strange 3 legged frogs etc.. Our sins of poluting the environment and others have allowed things to unravel.

Faith is..
to be sure of what you hope for.
And the evidence of things unseen.

Like for instance if the world was spinning any faster we would fly of the earth like nothing you have ever seen.

As a Christian I see the evidence everyday.
If you don't want to see God you won't. But if you do, He will reveal it to you if you ask. You will see it more and more.

Good luck

Ok, you need to close your eyes and take a step in faith the the chair is there.
Seeing the chair tips the scales in your favor.
Seeing is knowing.
Faith is trusting.

A better example of "natural faith" would be swallowing the chemicals your doctor prescibes for you. You have to have faith in the doctor and in the pharmacist, knowing that if either of them makes a mistake it could cost you your life, or at least seriously damage you.

All I can say is that someday you will experience something that will answer the question for you and you don't have to be reborn or be a religious nut for it to happen. When you really really need some help and ask for it, you will know, then you will remember this note.

i think they might mean it in a spiritual and not literal way, such as the parable of the mustard seed, the mountains aren't actual mountains but mountains as in burdens and obstacle we encounter in our lives. we are told not to test god so we don't need any repeatable verifiable experiment to test whether or not he is a real entity. my faith and believes are verifiable enough for me.

we would desire to have self assurance and function faith for our very own progression. the toddlers of God would be unable to be spoon-feed grown-ups. a clean bigger order of being is being developed. it rather is in believing and faith that we are spiritually awoke, to work out the fact previous the barriers of time, area and causation.
