Are there different churches ?
My Christian friend would'nt pray in just any church -it had to be a presbytarian church.

On the other hand i can pray at any mosque anywhere in the world!

Surely if you are a Christian you can pray at any church anywhere in the world too!

My GOODNESS! Of COURSE a Christian can pray in any church, on any road, anywhere they are at! The Bible tells us to pray unceasingly and I do! I pray for my Muslim friends, too. I don't understand why ANYONE thinks they have more of an "in" with God than someone else, but I know some religions preach that. I was in nursing school, with my dear friend taking care of her wonderful father who was in a coma years ago. There's no way I could believe this dear Muslim man will end up in some awful place other than Heaven. I fully believe Jesus Christ is the son of God and came to earth to die for our sins. In that I agree with the Christian faith, but I certainly don't think all others who believe that way, are the only people that will end up with God in Heaven. I fully expect to meet up with my Muslim friends there, along with the Christians. (Many would disagee with this) God made every one of us. God gives us every breath we take. We are all related, just as fingers on a hand. Pray whenever and wherever you please, my friend, and encourage people you know to do the same! I hope your presbyterian friend loosens up a bit! God Bless you!

You can pray in a card board box in some lonely alley and God will hear you just as if you are sitting in the most beautiful church in the world. He doesn't care where you are just as long as you talk to him. God Bless you.

It's all in the marketing.
Some religions still hang on to the old idea of sacred places on the earth, maintaining connections to pagan past history and possibly to the Mother Earth philosophy, even if they don't know it.
Many churches were built on top of ancient stone sacred sites to get the pagans to start coming to the new churches.
Muslims figured out long ago that if they wanted to increase market share, they had to standardize the interface with the main product server: God.

i would be very cautious of anone who won't pray unless they are in a certain place. Praying is not about the place, it's about the person whom you are praying to.

you can pray at church, while your driving, while your showering, laying in bed, as i'm typing this. it doesn't matter.

your friend sounds stuck on religion and not at all concerned with his relationship with God.
