As far as the responder who asked if I've ever ridden in an ambulance, my question to you is what gives you the right to dump trash in the road or on the beach? Other smokers can act responsibly, why can't you?

YES! Who do they think picks up the cigarette butt?
It really annoys me because in Australia, not only is it littering but throwing a lit cigarette butt out the window in the outback can start bush fires!! Only a few months ago, some idiot threw a lit butt out of the car window and set fire to a garden on the side of the road.
Lets start throwing them back in the cars!

That's one of my pet peeves!! Don't cars still have ashtrays?? I don't get why a smoker thinks it's ok for them to toss out cigarettes on the ground. I've seen people get out of their car, light up and 10 steps later toss it down at the front of the store. What's the point? Are they so pathetic they can't go that long without one?

No I haven't and I won't be. I prefer to stay alive and I might pick someone who in a shooting mood. I am a smoker but I do not throw cigarette butts out of my car. I also never throw out other litter. Do you?

Oooh! You've been reading my mind. That really frosts me, when those cigarette butts come sailing out of the car -- and the really scary part is they are usually still glowing. I don't care if the tossers want to smoke their brains out, but they don't seem to care about setting anything on fire, don't care about the birds who unknowingly eat that crap, don't care about what happens anywhere down the food chain.
It would certainly be great just to toss it back -- but would they even get the point?

Yes I have, and yes I did to quite a few, I am a smoker and I would never throw my cigarette out of the window. Also goes for people throwing garbage out of their vehicles, It Is just plain stupidity. They do not have the brains to do what is right, and we do not have to take it.

Yes!! I have NOTHING against smokers but I have plenty against seeing butts all over the streets. (unless they are female butts)
