Yes...it is horrible!!! I yell at my mother when she gives my kids sweets. It not only makes them hyper it makes them fat. my mother lectures me about my daughters weight then hands her a cupcake!!! I try to keep my kids away from all that junk, I give them fruit and other healthy snacks. Not only does fruit taste better it is better for you and it is a early start to health eating.

I think that you should limit everything that you give your child if you are looking into their best interest. I mean to call sugar a drug is a little over the top but just being worried about them being hyper when there are other things you should worry about childhood diabetes and cavities along with obesity. I have two kids and I let them have soft drinks if we are out to eat at dinner or a cookout but they are not allowed to have it whenever they want because I want them to have things to drink that are better for them. My kids are hyper with or without the sweets that is just what kids do. If a kid wasn't active or acted crazy sometimes I would wonder if their parents really drugged them to make them behave that way. I believe that you should practice what you preach and if you don't have soft drinks or sweets in your house at all and you yourself don't eat them and then that way kids don't even know what it is that is fine, but to sit there and eat it and drink it in front of them and telling them it is bad for them. That is sending them mixed messages.

Sugar does NOT cause hyperactivity. I don't care what anyone tells you.
It is just a preconceived notion that sugar causes hyperactivity. After a child consumes sugar, parents are looking for that specific behavior to confirm their preconceived notion. That does not mean sugar caused it.
It is caffeine that causes hyperactivity. (Or simply the idea of getting a treat)
Sugar is not a drug. Like all things, it should be consumed in moderation.

yes sugar has more effect on the human body than some illegal drugs. one of the bodies main sources of engery is from glucose.. aka sugar. when a human, especially a young human whos body is already moving so fast, takes in some sugar its a sudden HUGE boost in engery.. it is sort lived though. maybe only a hour or so. Not much. But yes it is possible to notice the difference.

No because until eventually the youngster has ADHD then the Ritalin is merely making the youngster intense. or maybe in circumstances of ADHD, there are merely some circumstances the position Ritalin is surely positive. i do not understand of any medical doctors in my section that would ever prescribe a toddler Ritalin and that i'm satisfied, it really is sickening that individuals are letting their little ones be doped up with the chemical equivalent of meth. no longer all little ones who're hyperactive have ADHD. maximum are merely conventional childrens, with a situation with needing more beneficial interest. Over 60% of little ones that were clinically determined with ADHD are later informed that they were misdiagnosed. also, countless the fault lies in moms and dads. wrong parenting concepts reason misbehaviors which include hyperactivity in little ones. little ones who're positioned on drugs for psychological themes have a more beneficial probability of committing suicide. Is the actual undeniable reality that I no longer ought to be certain my toddler because he sits interior the nook and drools because he's so drugged up nicely worth having him committing suicide over? no longer in my case.

Here is what you need to do, if you are serious about losing weight and keeping it off. Eat 6 small meals a day about every 4 hours. Here what that will do for you, your metabolism will increase (i.e. Loose weight) and you will have more engry. If you go on a diet and eat less, your metabolism will slow down and store to fat. That is why diets dont work. Only the size of your fist, carbs (examples:baked potato, pasta, oatmeal, beans, corn, melon, apples, fat free yogurt, whole wheat breads)in one and protien (examples:chicken breast, swordfish, shrimp, turkey breast) in the other. You can also eat vegetables and salads with any meal, they dont have none or little fat). 30min cardo exercise every day. Any of these(examples: walking, jogging, swimming, running, biking, ect), Monday cardo, tues upper body (arms: curls, tricep extensions, pull ups, front press)(abdominals: leg pull crunch, leg raises), (chest: bench press, butterfly, pullover)(shoulders: front press, arm pullover, cross county skier machine)(back:seated row, lat pull downs, back extension)(YOU DONT HAVE TO DO IN ONE DAY, mix it up) wed cardo, thurs lower body (legs: leg pull, leg press, squats, lounges) fri cardo, sat upper. Sunday eat anything you want and dont exercising, you do this on sunday so your body doesnt go into starvation mode. YOU NEED TO TAKE SUNDAY OFF. If you stilck with this you will have a great body. also drink aleast 8oz of water daily! Stay away from Mcdonals, Wendys, ect because there is nothing good for you on the menu's even the salads are bad (beaon bits, cheeze, dressing, ect) Good Luck :)
