and I really like her, however i'm very shy and when she's with her (girl)friends I can't get myself to go and talk to her with them around me,(its pretty awkward going up to talk to them and I dont want to give her the impression that I trying hard to impress her), its also the same when boys are around her, I get agitated and totally shut down. The only time I get to talk to her is when shes at the train station (we get on the same train back home). I really like her but in the long term I dont want her to think that i'm a loser because I avoid her at school. What should I do? I would talk to her if say for instance I found the homework hard and needed her help but im not in any of her classes. I just don't know what to say to her...

well if you avoid her you wont get to no her and she might not be your type but its okay to be shy but you might lose her if you wont even barley talk to her so at least talk eventually things could start happening. its not for sure but try it okay

just ask her out. The worse answer that you can get is "no" or being ignored.
