Why do most women go for a**holes or 'bad boys' and then moan that all men are pigs?

I agree with the evolutionary programming explanation above. However it is also true that for generations now Madison Avenue, Hollywood and the television broadcast and cable networks have been glamorizing the mesomorphic "bad boy" types at the expense of the testosterone-challenged ectomorphic and endomorphic types. Perhaps in recent years this is less true than previously. Still, it is difficult to overcome years of conditioning, especially when much of that conditioning took place during the young formative years before life experience allowed critical thinking and evaluation of societal norms to arise. From this perspective, the girls who favor the "bad boys" are themselves victims of societal pressure and end up paying the price. By the way, I don't mean to imply that all mesomorphs are "bad boys." And yes, some of the "bad boys" are of the other body types too. It just seems that the media has until recently favored that type in advertisements, movies, etc. Now, of course, we have Tobey Maguire and Spider-Man. But then, how many of us 'good guys" can scale tall buildings as Peter Parker:does so easily? Wake up, girls, what the media dishes out to you is pure fantasy.

Some men are - gasp - really good actors. Women don't realize what they are until it is too late. Also, some women are really dense and don't realize they are repeating the same cycle over and over. The rest of us, however, don't call men pigs! It takes two to tango. I see the same thing coming from men to women, have you never notice the 'b' or 'w' word coming up in conversation with your buddies?

I beg your pardon but we dont know you are a**holes and bad boys until its too late. I now make it a point of giving off signals only to smart guys. There are a lot of jerks that are very stealthy and fly below the radar so I have to talk to them and find out what's in their head before I will proceed.

Simple reason: Women wait for guys to ask them out, but the only guys with the balls to do it are the guys that know they will succeed, this air of arrogance is attractive/exciting (sometimes only on a subconscious level), so they date. Unfortunately, the arrogance is also what makes them such an ***, they think they can have any woman they want.

Guys that are jerks have been shown to carry more than their fair share of testerone around, which attracts women to them. Girls see bad boys as a challenge ... someone they can "tame" or "change" and often overlook the great guys that don't treat them like dirt. This often changes with maturity.

Its evolutionary programming. For millenia the bad boys were the best at keeping their kids alive. Mostly it meant defending and feeding them. Not always easy. The evil bastards were better at it mostly. Now days when we have it easier, society values other things: money, calmness, politeness, wimpy wage earning, etc. The deep programming is for the mean bastards who would take somebody out to protect somebody he loves.

Because women always have to present and see themselves as the victims. They hook onto guys like that because they are fun, because they treat women like the dirt they are and because women always get to be the victim with that sort. And that is what women want.
