I'm sorry about your mother. I'm sure you took great care of her and now it's time to care for yourself. Please see a doctor about this. You've been through a tough time and this is not a time to be asking your Yahoo friends about sleep meds. Best of luck!

Lots of good answers given so far. I will tell you what NOT to do. Do not watch t.v. in bed, don't excercise 3 hours before bedtime, don't listen to the radio, do not eat sugar, caffeine, or take allergy pseudophedrine before bed, and lastly do not deal with home issues like bills before bedtime. You need to make sleep time like an event that only aims at getting you relaxed and rested. Drug therapy is ok but the environment need to be conducive to sleep as well.

Sounds like it isn't drugs that you need but rather an in depth look inside to find the answer. Within a question lies the answer. Take an open and honest look at your question and the answer IS right there for you. It'll take time to reverse things but just as you were able to create things so you can reverse it. Good luck and rely on yourself again and you didn't fail then and you won't now.

Gee Seroquel is a tough one to replace. The only other drugs to replace it would be either Rohypnol taken with Phernergan to triple the effects. Or another one is Halcion.

I'm sorry for your loss--it would be very hard to lose a loved one (I know, I lost my father). I have found that turning to Jesus for help along w/physical exhaustion works well. U really should get in touch w/a professional who can help u w/any meds u may require.

Wow! all of us are not doctor, and here we are recommending sleeping pills! something's wrong! go see your doctor. Explore conventional drug but also non conventional methods (herbal tea, homeopathie such as valeriane...) but FIRST: talk to your doctor!!! I wouldn't take any of our advice: sleeping drugs can lead to a serious addiction and then you have another set of problem to deal with! and there are different reason for poor sleep and different drugs will deal with that. and sometime, you don't need drug, but better sleeping routine or a good talk! see your doctor! (please!)

My doctor prescribed Ambien because it does not usually interact with other medications. It knocks me out in 5 minutes.
