On an older Chevy alternator, you can run one wire from the alternator to any hot spot in the electrical system. I am not sure of any side effects with the Toyota electrical system, so double check to make sure everything is compatible. All you need is a wire going from the alternator back to a spot that will feed the battery while it's running. I think it should be an 8 or 10 guage wire. On the back of the alternator there should be one electrical stud and and electrical pug in on the side. What I've done is just tie one wire into both of these and run it back to a main electrical junction on the firewall somewhere. I've never heard of anyone putting a Chevy 350 in a Toyota. Sounds like fun. Good luck.

Probably it would be easier to make a custom underhood harness. You will need the wiring diagram for the Chevy, and the 4runner to match up where the wires go.
