The Bible has had the disadvantage of being translated into many languages whereas the Qu'ran has remained mostly in Arabic. Most Christians believe that the Bible are the words of God, but they represent historical depictions of the times and Constantine was the one to standardize the text and selected the books to be included (and left out many too). Constantine, himself a pagan until he lie dying, was very clever and he selected the books of the Bible that fit harmoniously with paganism. December 25th was selected as the birthday of Jesus Christ, although he was born months later, because it was the birth of Mithra, "Son of God" who strangely later died and was buried in a cave (just like Christ) and was resurrected (just like Christ) but by including this, Constantine was able to bring the Christians and the pagans together. There is little about Christianity that is unique, even the image of God himself was borrowed from another cult. Many ancient religions used the sun as a god...and we have a special day to pray...Sunday.
It is not the religion, nor the books that make a faith. It is the belief that there is eternity for the soul...Christ, Buddha, Krishna, Mohammed and others were teachers to lead people towards the perfection of the soul. However you reach that goal is up to you.

You are right. Around 1450, many Protestant Reformers removed the Dueterocanonicals from the Bible which all of Christendom had been using universally since the year 324. Martin Luther even removed the Book of James and Revelation from the Bible before others restored them to their new Bible.

We don't, not sure whom you are speaking to or of.
And the different Bibles do not contradict each other- they may interpret scripture differently, but they all say the same thing- Jesus Is Lord. If the Bible you are speaking of doesn't say that- you are not reading a Bible.

It is a fact that entire books have been removed from the bible. All you have to do is to do a little research on the council of nicea to figure this out for yourself. Early christians wanting to increase the popularity of their religion and wanting to increase their power over others modified religious text to suit their own needs. For instance, in order to solidify their claims pertaining to the divinity of jesus they came up with the holy trinity. Any scripture that contradicted what they wanted to acomplish with the religion and dogma that they were creating was edited out and destroyed. This was done with such efficiency that very little originaly scripture is left, and what is left is only released a little at a time. Large sections of the dead sea scrolls are still hidden from us by the vatican. Ancient writings that are contrary to the modern bible are written off as false texts in order to maintain the strangle hold on information that the vatican has. If you look at things logically, the first scriptures were written in ancient hebrew, then translated to greek, latin, german, and then english. The scriptures from the time of christ were written in ancient aramaic, and then translated to latin, german, and english. Anyone that does not think that errors were made in translation, or that flavour and ideas were not lost in translation is deluding themselves. Todays modern bible is filled with mistakes and human error. If you combine this with the blatant destruction of any contradictory scriptures, you are left with a book that is no worth the paper that it is written on.

I don't add or remove from my Bible. As far as Bibles contradicting each other, if someone decides to write their own Bible to start their own religion (LDS,etc) then they are posers and I will have nothing to do with them.
The people who add or remove are sinning, or not true believers. Posers.

I don't add or subtract from my KJV Bible. Why are there 10 different versions of the koran that contradict each other? Why do Muslims add or subtract from the koran what suits them?

I didn't realize there were so many bibles that contradicted their "core" message? Isn't that the most important concept? Oh I see, you convolute religion enough so it pleases you to find anything wrong with how people conduct their faith. However, I would be careful of how you approach your thesis. Faith should be between you and God, don't use other people as a crutch to condone your main goal, and that is to reject faith.

No one can add and remove anything from the bible. It tells you right in there. Not all christians are that way. In fact most aren't.
Your question should have been why did the catholic church do that? Who the heck is veronica anyways. Never read this in the new or old testement.

Real Christians don't do that.
People on the periphery of Christandom do.
The Bible is not a menu from which to pick and choose.

JW's, Mormons, Christian Science, 7th Day Adventists.
Hmmm. Based on the things that define these cult groups, I guess we could include Islam in there also.
