I had a broken arm with plates and screws in it before I enlisted. All I had to do was prove that I was capable of doing all the usual things anyone else could do and I was in. If the ankle was repaired properly then there should be no problem, if it was very recent and still painful the navy may defer the entry date until the ankle is proved sound or unsound for full use.

I doubt very seriously the waiver will be approved, and if it does, there will be ZERO restrictions placed on you. you will be expected to PT just like everybody else in your age group and gender.

A waiver would only be granted if the condition presents no limitations on the recruit.

They will probably require an extensive physical, in which they will probably contact your treating physician to obtain more information.

They will want to know the age and severity of the injury, and all, if any, lingering affects.

Having a medical condition is not necesarily an automatic disqualification for military enlistment.
