The Hydrologic Cycle

Ecclesiastes 1:7 “All the rivers run into the sea; yet the sea is not full; unto the place from whence the rivers come, thither they return again.”

Job 36:27-28 “For he maketh small the drops of water: they pour down rain according to the vapour thereof: Which the clouds do drop and distil upon man abundantly.”

Consider the following verses from Job 41 regarding leviathan

vs 24-29 “His heart is as firm as a stone; yea, as hard as a piece of the nether millstone. When he raiseth up himself, the mighty are afraid: by reason of breakings they purify themselves. The sword of him that layeth at him cannot hold: the spear, the dart, nor the habergeon. He esteemeth iron as straw, and brass as rotten wood. Psalm 74:14 “Thou brakest the heads of leviathan in pieces, and gavest him to be meat to the people inhabiting the wilderness.”

Psalm 104:25-26 “So is this great and wide sea, wherein are things creeping innumerable, both small and great beasts. There go the ships: there is that leviathan, whom thou hast made to play therein.”

Mountains under the Sea

The Bible has some basic scientific information, but saying that the ocean has currents isn't advanced. People have known about ocean currents since the first boats were made. (Based on the story of Noah, boats existed before the Bible.) I'm not saying that the Bible is wrong. I'm just saying that if it had something on atomic theory or germ theory, it could be considered scientific beyond its time.

Scientific discoveries have been made based on the Bible. The scientists either trusted the Bible or were trying to prove it wrong.

Christopher Columbus knew the earth was round because the BIble said so, and the scientists said it was flat.
How about all the plagues because they didn't follow the laws of cleanliness that God outlined for the Israelites.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO! The bible is not scientific I cannot stress that enough. how can you scientifically explain that he died and ressurected 3 days later?? They had no super doctors back then and I doubt you could do it today. how can you create a man of dust and give him life. How can you create the universe scientifically ?? Science is a man made thing to see into the wonderful process of our world. We can learn new things by it, but, it cannot explain how god does his wonders

No, the Bible is not scientific. At least, that's what I believe, and it will take a lot more than a few chance scriptures for me to believe otherwise. Come on...a whale swallowing a person? A flood that covers the earth? Virgin birth? I find this a hard thing to swallow.

Sure, the earth is flat, with four corners, the sun, every planet and the entire universe revolve around it, and mentally ill people aren't ill at all, why, they're just possessed by "demons"!

the bible is a book of faith, not of science. its not meant to be scientific or to seem scientific. its meant to be "unreal" and mythological-sounding. obviously in a thousand and some pages you're going to find some passages about nature are true, but that doesn't make it a book of science. wolves exist in real life too, does that make the story of little red riding hood scientific?
