Sorry some people do not understand my question so i have to edit it again. when my wife is going on vacation she cooks different kind of foods specially nonveg. I put in plastic container and FROZEN it and use it later. It is normal cooking nothing (preservatives) is added in cooking to keep the cooked food in good condition. Maximum how long we can keep COOKED FOOD as FROZEN and use it later.

And once i DEFROZE it within how many hours we have to finish that food. After boiling it nicely can we keep the remainin food in refrigerator again and use it next day say for 24 hours.

Is there any need of adding something during cooking to keep the food in good condition. If so what is that.

What are the other things to take care to preserve the cooked food for a long period.

Thanks in advance for all of you who answers my question.

you can safely eat the food within 3 months of it being frozen. Once it is reheated, it will still be safe for about 3 days. The only thing you might want to add is any seasonings that you enjoy

When I cook a meal I would cook extra so that I could make my husband a "plate lunch" to take to work the next day, putting everything on the plate like meat, potatoes and beans or corn then wrap it with plastic wrap then with foil. Several times I made these plate lunches and put them in the freezer wrapped in plastic and foil and they tasted just as good as when they were first made. I did not have to add anything to them before freezing. The only thing that is very important is to be sure the food is cold before wrapping it and putting it in the freezer. If it is hot or even warm then the food will sweat and be watery when it is defrosted.
They will keep in the freezer three months then in the refrigerator
two to three days after reheating.

yes, you can take food that your wife cooks and freeze it in containers. She can make a casserole in either glass and you can bake it, or in plastic and then, you can microwave it. You can microwave the glass too. It should stay good for a few months in a good sealed container in the freezer, and yes, after you reheat the food, it will be good for you to eat the next day as well. You should not have to add anything extra into the food to keep it good. Just reheat it and eat it.. if you need any extra help, feel free to email me...

Firstly, always ensure that cooked meat is left to cool (in a covered dish or wrapper) before freezing. (Otherwise you are susceptible to food poisoning)
Frozen meat, poultry and vegetables can be stored for 6months.
Bread, cakes, soups and seafood for 3months only.
Be sure to take out the frozen food at least 6 hours before re-heating. Less if you defrost it in a microwave.
Hope this helps!
Good Luck! :)
