It all depends on what you like to do; the opportunites are limitless!
If you enjoy working with animals, nearly all Humane Societies and animal rescues need volunteers. You can foster a needy cat or dog, walk, feed, or play with pets, hold fundraising drives, etc.
If you like children, there's always Big Brother/Sister programs, and you could also volunteer at low income daycares and such, or reading programs at the library.
If you like to work with your hands, Habitat for Humanity might be a good choice, or help at the local homeless shelter, food bank, or low income clinic.
For any activity that you enjoy, you can probably find some volunteer activity that would use it.
Hope this helps!
