If you found out that what you have been taught by your church was wrong would you have the guts to leave it and follow new truths? Or would you be afraid for fear of persacution from family and friends?

hey..better question if your friends and family persecuted you because of your religion would you have the guts to remain faithful to your God?

I did, I got out of Church, And guess what, its not the persecution of family and friends that get you,
its the Church..
Jesus said,
I am the way the truth and the life,
Have you not read,
do not fear, for I have over come the world, and for my sake you will have persicution.
But fear not, for greater is he that is in you then he that is in the world.

Well I would not fear persacution if I decided I no longer wanted to believe in God,and Jesus Christ of corse I live in the USA,and am not under Shara Law.
However,Islam is a totaly differant story: If you leave Islam,the other muslims are obligated to bring you back to Islam,or kill you:

I did. There have been some comments by family, but nothing I would call persecution.
Of course we live in a country with the mindset that if you think it is right for you then it is OK. We have no idea of what persecution really is here in the United States.
