For the person who questioned how the cat got the effexor, she got on the counter and snitched it before I noticed it was gone. I would never give a cat a medication without it being prescribed. What an awful thing to suggest.

My dauchsand ate rat poisoning
& my mom called the vet & they
told us to give her a small amount of
peroxide - we had to pour it down
her throat & it made her throw it
right up . She was fine & it didnt
hurt her -

I just looked it up online & it said
to give the animal one table spoon &
if they dont throw up in 15 minutes try
one more - that is for a dog though I'm
not sure if it's with cats too.

OK I JUST FOUND ANOTHER
ARTICLE & IT SAID THE SAME
THING FOR CATS. LOOK IT UP
IF YOU DONT BELIEVE ME - I
WOULDNT LIE OR TRY TO HURT
YOU ANIMAL.

I find that hard to believe the cat ate it without any human help first of all, second take it to a veterinarian immediately. If you thought it would be cute to give it to the cat to see what it would do you are sick and don't deserve to have a pet!

If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or Vet immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include sleepiness, irregular heartbeat, and seizures. And for a cat this would be a overdose

Get your cat to a vet ASAP! And never leave meds out where your cat can get to them. I take multiple medications and I make sure not to leave pills around where my Tika could possibly get to them.

Call your emergency clinic, let them know the drug and dose, and ask them to call ANIMAL posion control while yoiu are on your way down.
Don't wait.
Cat's bodies are very different from dogs and people. For example, Tylenol will kill cats, it prevent their blood from taking up oxygen.
Good luck.

Call your vet now and talk to them. They probably want you to bring them in. If you don't have a vet look in the phone book for an emergency vet.

I would call the emergency vet as soon as possible to see what side effects can occur and tell you what to do. Don't wait. This could be very dangerous.
