I'm 15 years old. I do not have those problems now, but when I was 14, that was me. I did that stuff because I was being picked on at school. I became very lazy, I did no work because I was either under alot of stress or someone took my work, my bedroom was nasty because I was so stressed out I was tired. This stuff does not only happen in 15 year olds.

I know you rather hear about those of us who have the nasty 15 year old...but MINE was wonderful...

An occasional smart mouth but nothing bad... We lived with the philosophy that parents rule, you will have your say, we will compromise and we will move on. It worked well for us !!

We were strick... every lie was one month of "grounding"...one week he told 3 lies... he had 3 months of being grounded from games, tv, friends... BUMMER to bad, get over it,,, he knew the rules.... He learned and never DID THAT again !! He knew the truth was never as bad as getting caught lying... Even if he did something wrong, if he told us as soon as it happened then NO punishment for we all screw up from time to time!

HANG IN THERE MOM & DAD

PARENTS RULE !!!

I am a 17 year old kid, and I can tell you from the way that I have been raised, that the kid lacks discipline. Next time he doesn't listen, REMOVE stuff you let him do. Don't let him go out. If he sneaks out, slap him. I know you don't want to but every kid wants to avoid pain. Get rid of cable. Stop buying him stuff. If he has a job, stop giving him rides, he can't drive yet!! If he complains, too bad. You have to show that you are superior and that what you say, goes. If he gets pi**ed, too bad. Remove his allowance.

Remember, he needs you to survive, you don't need him. He thinks that he is Mr. BIG SH**, but if you do it right, at the snap of your finger, his room will be clean, and his work will be done.

girllll i feel sorry for you, my son now, is 25 years old so i have been there....when my son started being a pain in the a@@ ...that's how they get.....they think they are the man of the house....and they think they are grown....Well, when my son started acting like that (not going to school, work, not cleaning his room) i just started not giving nothing to him...no school no money for clothes...no cleaning nothing. I just started showing tough love. Usually when a son turns rebellious at the teen years...you have to check out his friends....make sure he is not doing drugs...and most likely he is not a virgin anymore...and make sure he is not hanging out with the wrong people ....other than that i just wish you luck ....and as they get older they settle down.....so, these teen years will pass...

You are soooo NOT alone! I'm surprised it didn't start earlier. My 13 year old twins are forces to be reckoned with! As far as I know this is very normal. Trying to break away from anything that associates them with mom and dad. Just continue being a strong guiding force in his/her life. They really want and need direction and routine.
