Why dont they round them up, like some one said earlier, they know where to find them. And why dont they put armed soldiers at every spot along the border? Kay-Kay, I do take vacations and many per year. I went to Mexico 5 times last year, and have gone twice this year and i'm taking a 5 day vacation there next week.

The American Government is suppose to BE the will of the people. It's a well known fact that 70+% of the American public don't want illegals here.
That said, there's evidence that congress and senate are working to fix this screw up by our government.
Problem is that it got out of hand. IF you leave your door open, the crook will let himself in. Easy pickins.
That's what many illegals have done/are doing and we are working to solve the problem by making some legal workers and sending the rest home.

The problem is in the beggining not the illegals fault, it is the fault of a wasted, inattentive government that is run by special interest groups. This hopefully is being changed as we correspond. The later part of the problem IS the fault of the illegals. That is, they come here and act like something other than law abiding citizens in ways too numerous to continue to mention. We all know what wrongs are done by illegals and there maybe some that we don't yet know. And of course, they do good or serve a function as well.
It has been my experience that those who cry racism, are usually the racists. This issue of illegal immigration has nothing to do with race and everything to do with illegal behavior, criminality on the part of the illegals and corrruption and lack of ability to serve on the part of the US government.
And we the people are somewhat at fault as well. We live with our heads in the sand and don't monitor closely enought where are tax dollars are being spent ...or mis spent.

The problem with your question is you're coming from a false premise. If we were to put armed soldiers on the borders, then we'd look like we were a closed country, whereas a border wall/fence with gates and checkpoints controls who comes into the country and where they may cross. Secondly, we don't need illegal immigrants to make the economy run. We do, however, can use legal immigrants on a temporary worker visa to fill jobs that no other American citizen will lower their dignity enough to fill. That way, those who enter the country to work can either work for a while then go home or decide to apply for citizenship.

From what I've been hearing, they ARE rounding up illegals in the border cities (I read an article in the paper the other day), and they ARE getting approval through Congress to build a fence separating Mexico from the United States. I believe they DO have armed border patrols already.

That being said, I don't care that there are illegal immigrants out there, I just wish they wouldn't get on welfare and such (so I have to pay for them). I believe that the United States needs to quit focusing on stopping illegal immigration, and instead concentrate on making them legal (so they can get better jobs and pay for their own healthcare).

If you are illegal in the United States, you deserve to be harassed by all Americans. You have to learn English, obey the laws, and become a citizen of the United States if you want to work and live in this great country. Illegals think they have rights, but if they are not legal citizens of the United States, the only right they have is to go back to whatever country they came from. They don't round you up and send you home, because they are politicians. They are cowards that refuse to make any decision that might cost them a vote.
