I'm not sure that I understand your question, but I'm going to assume that you had an abortion using the abortion pill, and NOT that you got pregant because your oral contraceptive failed.

(If I'm wrong, then maybe someone else out there can use this advice.)

Your doctor didn't do you any favors by giving you RU-486. The abortion pill may seem convenient, but the whole process is much more dangerous and difficult in the long run than the typical surgical termination of a pregnancy.

It sounds as if the complete contents of your uterus were not eliminated with the pill, and your body is "cleaning house" with this cycle. If you don't have excessive pain, and whatever comes out doesn't smell really bad, then things are most likely OK.

Your doctor should've given you two different pills--orally. But due to either nausea, or horrible cramping, some practitioners have patients insert the first pill vaginally, and/or skip the second pill entirely to make women more comfortable. Both shortcuts can drag out the process and lead to poor results.

Regardless--as the other poster said--call your doctor if it doesn't taper off in a couple of days OR you get new/worse symptoms. A fever would be a clue to call NOW.

It depends upon your age sometimes. Being on the pill is like being pregnant. Ovulation stops, so when you start up again (by discontinuing the pill or stopping the pregnancy), your cycle can get thrown off. Sometimes you can have a period without ovulating, then you ovulate DURING the period, causing more bleeding.

Younger women, especially under 22, are often prone to irregular periods and longer or shorter times of bleeding than "normal", because their ovaries aren't fully mature. The pill basically puts your ovaries on "hold". However, it could be something worse, like endometriosis. If the bleeding goes longer than this, see a Dr.

If you have started the pill, it may not be strong enough, but keep taking it.. your body goes thru a lot of hormonal changes after this procedure, so it will likely get back on track..but consult your Dr. you should not still be bleeding.

Ask your Doctor. S/he will be able to tell you. But I think it may be normal....or the pill screwed up your system.....sometimes it can do that... Good luck
