I think first because they are jealous, don't think however that low self-esteem would make someone mean, I've met low esteem people who were quite kind natured....but never a jealous/envious one

thats usually why...there mite have been sumthin in there life that just makes them mean, cuz i have a frend that is just mean all the time, most of the time there self esteem is really low like u sed, and they just try to make themselves feel better by makin other people feel bad

There is alot of very unhappy people out there, and they are mean because they want everyone else to be as unhappy as they are. Just over look them, showing them attention just makes them meaner.

its just that everybody wants to be on top so when someone else is on top of there game then they get mad becuase everybody wants the same thing
