Three men are stranded on an island. All the same age, single, same religion, and each do not have any family to go back to. But they have different philoshiphies (forgive me if I misspelled it). They are all healthy. And NONE OF THEM believe in reancarnation
One day they run out of food, so they decide one of them has to die for the other two to eat. They quickly decide who will be eaten, even the one chosen thought it was a good ideal...why?

Coz he's the smartest..the odds are against them all. To eat another human to survive for some extra days is merely prolonging the inevitable; they'll ultimately die. Given the circumstances, to survive is merely prolonging their sufferings. The one that lives the longest would be the one to suffer the most. Even if he is to survive and lives the island, the ordeal of having to eat his friends to survive would have killed his conscience of being a normal human being..and that would be an even slower death.
