I can not understand why a muslim family would like to live in the USA. I am going to put some reasons why I think that you would not like it, and maybe you could explain why you came to the USA to live.
The culture in the USA if completely different from Islam.
The dress styles are different and muslims stand our as unusual, esp the women
The laws are not sharia law and will never be.
The schools teach completely different from an Islamic country.
Your children will eventually leave their Islamic culture.
Now tell me why you want to live in the USA?

Muslims say that american women dress like prostitutes and that our customs are perverse, so I don't know why they would come just to work someplace that they didn't even like..
I am not aware that there were many muslims in the USA that were born here, like 30 to 40 years ago.. not just recently born here.

You may say that Islam means (peace and submission to allah) but when there is no submission to allah then there is not peace.. I am no longer buying the peace thing.

WHAT PROMPTED ME TO ASK THIS QUESTION? I honestly don't see why muslims would be happy living here when they criticsize the culture and way of life.. I would think that they would be happier in a country that had sharia law.

It could be that they want a better life for their children. Maybe even though the mother of the family is a prisoner of Muslim beliefs, she wants her daughters to be psychologically free. Maybe they just wanted to escape fanatical Islam, but that would not explain why they still wear hijab. Good question. I would like to see an answer from Muslims as well.

Why were the Native Indians the first people to be in the U.S? you can't just name a religion and ask why did they come to the USA. The USA is made up of different and various religions and cultures who have migrated to the USA to live that is what makes the USA a unique place to live. Why do most Americans think that Islam is a radical religion? It is not. Islam (the word in itself) means Peace and at the same time submission to Allah (God). Following the religion does not make you an extremist or radical as many Americans (after the war on terror) have named it. Muslim woman wear the hijab because that is their supplication to their Lord. It is like asking a nun why she dresses the way she does. Or why Virgin Mary wore a head garment? They all follow the same purpose. We have to educate ourselves about various cultures, races and religions to learn to accept others. This land is not only for Christians. It is for all of God's children including Muslims.

Why not?? i was born here..but i guess it is the same reason as other people from other countries want to live here... all people dress different--i see no problem with that.. as far as the schools- some are in public schools and some go to Islamic schools..and what makes you say that their children will leave Islam??
there are so many different cultures that live in the US now and they seem to be doing OK...

For greener pastuers and as long as US or the other Westren countries like Canada, Australia keep on inviting more and more people to fill up jobs at home irrespective of whether they are Muslims or from other religion. U cannot stop Muslim migaration to the Westren countries or the US, it would be tentamount to declaring war against them and would be height of discrimination. Above all, they (Muslims) can perserve their culture, religion etc while staying in a Westren country. Well if some wayward youth takes up some dirty job etc it's individual's choice not that religion tells him to do so. So do not jump at and express your surprise if a Muslim family migrates to the US or other Westren country.

1. Because of the freedoms that we have here, in most Islamic countries you are not allowed to speak anything bad about the government at all. Here they are guaranteed freedom of speech, freedom of religion and their is basic human rights that don't exist in many countries.
2. For the opportunities here: business, education and jobs. In countries like Egypt there are more educated people than jobs for them. College is free for Egyptians so there are many doctors, pharmacists, engineers etc and there are not enough jobs. Many Egyptians work outside of their country in Saudi Arabia, Dubai and Kuwait but there are not enough jobs for them all. Just for the same reason there are so many people from Mexico here, although the Egyptians usually enter legally and are more educated. Also many Saudis attend university's here and then most return to their country.
3. For the lifestyle, everyone wants to be happy and live well.

It is also very important to note that lots and lots of muslims in America have converted on there own free will to Islam. There were not born muslims that came from arab lands .They were born in America and thus it is there birthright too to live were they want to.
WHY do ask such a silly question? Do you own America ?

lol! Most muslims that live here don't lose their culture. And a lot of them are refugees who have no choice. They had to come to America to escape opression from other religions. And even though there isn't Shariah law being practiced in America, we still hold onto it in our hearts, while respecting people who don't believe in Islam. btw, Islam is a religion of peace. Don't believe what the media tells you.

maybe u can start by asking urself why do christians like to live in the arab world, specially UAE, Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
many many many americans live in Saudi Arabia and have compounds there, in a few years it will be like Saudi Arabians living in the new usa. why dont u ask urself that first, like we always do?
