you can "bake" them in the microwave without wrapping them.

put them in for about 10 minutes, then use a toothpick to check if they're done, keep cooking for 5 minutes after that until theyre done

Zap 'em in the microwave for 6-8 minutes, just puncture skins with a fork several times and wrap in paper towels. Or bake in the oven right on the rack for 45 minutes or so. My mom used to poke a large galvenized nail clear through the potatoes to help the centers cook quicker. We always liked them.

Best way to get good potatoes and fast is to poke holes into the potato, wrap in saran or wax paper with a teaspoon of water. Microwave for about 5 minutes. check to see if it's how you like it, you may need more time. The water and wrapping makes it moist and not have the skin dry out. It's so good this way! Enjoy!

I never use tin foil. Poke holes in it and place it in the microwave for 25 minutes....VOILA! A baked potato!

Just poke them as usual and rub some olive or veg oil on the outside, put them directly on the rack in the oven. They turn out delicious! the skin gets nice and crisp but dosen't burn. I make them this way all the time! Enjoy your dinner with your husband I hope he appreciates it!
