i found a place that has mini bulldogs and regular bulldogs. i'm considering getting one. but i'm wondering if its a good idea...for a couple reasons. one, you never know if they're reputable. two, the poor dog has to fly to you. and also, would there be a quarintine time? anything you can tell me would help. Thanks :)

i just want to add, that the website specifically says, the mini bull is not a new breed or anything, its just a smaller bulldog.

Never buy from Spain, Africa, or Portugal. those contries are famous for dog scams..
Many times you can find a reputable breeder overseas. they will have a good website showing them winning at shows, championshp titles on their dogs...and are able to give you a list of references, as well .
But a bulldog is extremely hard to ship safely..I wouldn't put one on a plane for more than a couple of hours, and it is still risky. If you look at the pet injury statistics, posted for all of the airlines, the majority of accidental or trauma deaths are of the snob nosed breeds.. It seems they just can't handle the stresses of shipping as well as other breeds..For this reason, several USA airlines will not even ship bulldogs, Pugs, Pekingese..

It's never a good idea to purchase a dog sight unseen. Look for local breeders where you can go look at the conditions in which the dogs are bred and raised. Any breeder that won't let you look has something going on that should make you leave immediately. Never purchase a dog from a pet store as nearly every single one comes from a puppy mill. They will bring you a lot of vet bills, tears and eventually a broken heart.

The AKC website has a breeder referral service that can help you find someone close to home.

I don't think this is a bad thing. But you definitely have to research the kennel that it is coming from. Make sure of their health guarantees and things. Also be prepared for high costs. It is not cheap to fly animals from other countries. As well as the cost for the puppy to begin with. Why not look for a local breeder, or a breeder within your own country.

I wouldn't suggest it. See if someone does this type of breeding in your state.
